No big change but she was slightly beter this morning. She followed me with her eyes as I was taking milk from the fridge. I gave her some and she drank a tiny bit. She's been hovering over her food but not eating on her own. She was sitting in her testing spot at 7 am this morning, sitting up normally, so I tested her. But no insulin.
She had Gaba plus Bupe this morning, since it seemed to help her yesterday afternoon. I most of all do not want her to be in any kind of pain.
She ate more this morning than over the last 3 days, I think. She accepted 4 syringes of baby food mixed with pumpkin, then one 2 or 3 times since. She comes over to her food regularly and just stays there with her head down. No pee or poop today, at all. She just laid there too.
I decided to wait until tomorrow, try to have either my vet or a hospice care vet see her, and take a decision then.
She is so weak. She smells bad, I sponge-clean her after every meal, she had pee on her legs too, and she just has a general bad smell. It is all so sad.
Thank you for all the love.

((((Cecile)))), I am so sorry Bella is so miserable. You and Bella have been in my thoughts a lot today. You are taking such good care of her. I send you lots of love and strength and lots of healing vines. Don't bother to answer, I hope you can spend as much time as possible with Bella. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Cecile
I'm sorry she's not eating or using the litter box. I hope the vet tomorrow can give you some answers. I know you will do what's best for her. You're such a great mama and you take wonderful care of her.
Sending healing vines :bighug::cat::bighug::cat:

I’m so sorry to hear this and I know how painful this is for you. Still keeping you both in my prayers. Is she taking something for nausea, it might help her appetite.
Hoping for a peaceful day for you both. colleen

No, she had Cerenia when she was hospitalized but they did not give it after. She has Mirataz now. She eats if the food is in her mouth. She drank milk too. She looks exhausted and weak rather than nauseated: she puts her head in the bowl of water, then lifts it a little, then drinks very weakly.
She seems to like the a/d food, thank you for suggesting this. She took one more syringe an hour ago.
She peed a large amount too.

((((Cecile)))) I’m praying Bella will feel better if she regains her strength. It’s so good you’ve gotten her to eat some today.
I know you’re doing everything possible to help her and she knows how much you love her.

If she’s nauseated she probably won’t want to eat, despite the mirataz. Do you have the Cerenia or ondansetron you can try for her?
Sending you more healing prayers and love. Thinking of you both always ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, Staci.
No, I don't have anything other than Pepcid, I got some because I thought she would eat too much butter one day again. She won't.
Honestly, I am just trying to keep her confortable now, she is not getting better. She wants to eat, she just does not have the strength, and I don't think she will regain it. She walks from her blanket to her water, back to the heat and the blanket. It's all within 15 feet and then she's exhausted and needs to rest. She is not sleeping at all, just lays there with her eyes half-closed.
She accepts the syringe and the spoon very well, so I am going to keep doing that. On Thursday she was probably nauseous because of the liquid Plavix, she turned her head every time I tried, but she is not doing that now.
Thank you Staci :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I was thinking the same thing about the anti-nausea meds. Pepcid might not help but it certainly shouldn’t hurt. Even in weakened states, cats are still stoic and mask discomfort well. I’ve used it frequently over the years, even in situations where I figure it won’t help. Just in case. :(

It’s good Bella is accepting food and keeping it down. One tiny bright spot in all of this.

I hope you get some answers tomorrow. Please give Bella some extra scritches from us. We’re thinking of you. :bighug:

(Random thought that I hate to ask at this point, but she was checked for hyperT, correct?)

Yes, normal T4 in september 2024.
I gave her 1/4 of a Pepcid, and took the rest myself.
She looks a little more aware of us tonight, but even weaker.
Thank you for all your messages.

Hello. Just a quick update. My sweet Bella is still here, still very weak but a little better.
Toay she had some Zofran and then she slept, she was much more relaxed than I've seen her over the last 4 days. Our vet came over after that, and we agreed on a plan.
She gave her fluids while she was here. She finds her a little jaundiced but not too much. We decided to give her fluids, she added Cerenia while she was doing that, keep doing the Mirataz and Zofran and all her other meds, and see how she is doing tomorrow. If she is not better, we will take that as a sign that she is done and will let her go.
If she is improving, we will do a blood work to see how her bilirubin is, if her red blood cells are breaking down or if it's just from not eating. She also prescribed the urgent care food, I have one can that the ER hospital gave me (they refused to do a prescription beecause the weekend vets did not see Bella, but they gave me a sample can. Weird but better than nothing), Bella ate about 1/3 of it, I will keep feeding her once she wakes up.
I feel calmer now, I talked a lot to Bella today, took her to all the places in the house where she likes to be, she slept on my hand and she even purred a little after she had the fluids. I will also give her some Miralax because she had no BM since Wednesday evening and her belly is full.
Thank you again so much afor all the love.
I feel so guilty that I did not try harder to get Zofran before. Some of you told me but I felt lost, the internal medicine vets did not prescribe it when we left, it felt huge to go back and ask. And this morning I realized that my husband can prescribe it. So he did. I don't know if I will be able to forgive myself.
Give a good cuddle and a kiss to your kitties for me.

Hi Cecile,
Oh my goodness, what a few days you and Bella had.
I teared up thinking of sweet Bella sleeping on your hand. What a moment. So precious. What a gift. Gift of love.
The bond between you and Bella is so strong that she knows you have always been there for her. Cecile, you are doing an incredible job helping Bella.
Wishing you and Bella a restful night.
Sending you prayers and hugs. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Cecile, this brings tears to my eyes. We’re all praying so hard for both you and Bella. You’re doing such an incredible job taking care of her. Please be kind to yourself.
I’m so glad she’s feeling a bit better and you are feeling calmer.

We are sending more healing vines and love your way.
❤️❤️
Please give sweet Bella gentle kisses from me and try to rest if you can.

Of Cecile, the love you and Bella have for each other so strong. I'm praying that all the meds that the vet gave her today will help and when she wakes up tomorrow you will see a lot more improvement.
There is nothing for you to feel guilty about. You have been doing all you can do for Bella . I'm happy to hear that she did eat some of the urgent care food. She's a fighter Cecile. Dear God please let Cecile wake up tomorrow and find Bella feeling a lot better. Sending lots of love to you and Bella
