She did it again. She vomited a lot after eating, then a few more times, she went hiding under a bed, came out, laid down and she is breathing fast. I tried to give her more Gaba but that made her throw up again.
It's almsot midnight here. She walks almost normally, but her feet are cold. She sat up very fast because she saw a centipede n the wall (that was actually a piece of dust, but she sat up and was excited), but she looks in pain.
I think I will take her to the ER again so they can give her fluids and painkillers, but I am lost, I don;t know what else I should do.
I don't think you can do anything but if anybody is awake, please send us good vines again.

Depending on the condition of her heart, fluids might not be a a good idea. Has she had an echo? Probably also a good idea to get a stash of pain meds for the house.
 
She had an echo in September and everything was normal. I’m taking here there now, i will write more but in short, she is moving, went to her litter box, up and down the stairs, limps but her legs support her. So I am hoping not as bad. We cannot pay again so we’ll see what wecan do, hopefully at least pain meds.
 
Do you know how to check her RR, resting respiratory rate? Count the number of complete in and out breaths in a minute (or half and double it) when she is resting. That is, if she is resting. You want it to be under 30.

I did not count exactly but she was very fast. She went hiding under a bed, then came out and laid down on her back fir a while, and she was mew
Owing but more like her usual leave me alone sounds. Then she tried to jump after a bug. Then she laid down on the blanket where she sleeps if not on my bed. She came downstairs, and kept movng, went under a chair and over the bars with no issue, went in her litter box…
All that to say that her legs work. They were both verycold at first, the left is warm again but theright is still cold.
She’s in now, I am waiting, there was nobody so hopefully it will be fast and she will have something for the pain.
 
I just talked with the vet. She said there is a small difference between bg in front and back legs, the left is almost normal and the right slightly lower but not by much. And same for the lactate, the right is elevated but not by much, 2.3 compared to 1.7. She gave her pain meds, an injection.
We talked about taking her home with an anti-nausea shot, or leaving her here for the night. I am waiting to see the estimate, I can bring her back tomorrow morning if needed.
 
I came home and she stayed at the hospital. They said her whole story was very unusual, the fact she recovers so fast, and also today is not typical of saddle thrombus,she moves well but she is in pain, her foot is cold… so maybe a smaller clot.
But she was too uncomfortable, it did not feel right to bring her home. I. Cannot stop crying.

I did not hear from them yet, it's 8 am here, i will call them soon if they don't call me.
I told them to either call me for the insulin or just skip it, last week they charged me $150 per unit, that's a crazy amount. In September they took my pen (the vet asked me if I could bring it when I visited Bella at night, she even asked me if I wanted to do the shot, and I did. This time, they did not agree to that (and I did not ask, in September, they offered), but the amount we paid the last 3 months is way too much and we cannot afford more. So we had to decide yesterday.).

Add to that $37 each time they tested her glucose. I could do that as a job and get rich. Or just make enough to pay for her hospitalization.
I will let you know, I'll call in 30 minutes, it's their shift end time, so not a good time to call now.
 
They called me. It’s the same internist that we saw in September, I really liked her. She wants to start another blood thinner, this one will be a shot, plus continue the Plavix. She said she thought we should wait to do more exams, which I completely agree with.
Bella is better, good pulses both sides, paws are warmer, she said she was grumbly and it’s a good thing. That sounds like my Bella.
I feel like somebody beat me. It’s a lot of emotions for a week.
 
That's great news, Cecile -- grumble all you want, Bella. Hopefully the new blood thinner will be just the ticket.
I understand the beat-up feeling, and I hope having your sweet girl home again will help your heart.

I'm so sorry you and Bella have been through the wringer this week. Bella is lucky to have a good momma like you. Sending you both good thoughts, vibes, and prayers.

We just got home. She does not want to go out of her carrier and is not at all interested in eating. They said she was doing great there this morning, so I hope she just needs some time to adjust. She is calm and alert but just in a loaf position and looking around.
 
I can't imagine how frustrating this all is, Cecile, but you're doing your very best, and Bella is one lucky cat to have someone caring so well for her. I hope that this new medication will help eliminate this issue for Bella. Sending healing vines.

I would seriously question that, even after the fact. It seems absurd so I wonder whether one “unit” should perhaps be one vial or pen of insulin rather than a one-unit dose. I’ve had weird things like that happen and been told that it was a misunderstanding about how things are listed the computer inventory (and had the bill corrected). And you’re lucky they let you bring in your insulin —I’ve had some facilities refuse to allow me to being in meds (some sort of liability thing, I guess, or so they say, even if the bottles are labeled).

Glad Bella is home. Did they say what pain meds were on board? Sometimes those can make kitties mellow as well.

Cecile hang in there, you’re emotionally all drained up. Such a lot to go through. Sending hugs and vines :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That much for a unit of insulin makes me pretty angry.
