And he was 100 at 4am. However he seems a bit sleepy, assuming feeling the new improved numbers, and he just will not eat so I can give him his shot this morning. He had one bite of salmon and licked the juices off his fancy feast to get his heart med. Should I wait until he has a few more bites before giving 3iu?

Brian are you sure you have the date right in your title, today is 11/8
Can you add the meter you are using to your signature ,also date he was diagnosed and the method you are following on your signature and spreadsheet.
I Just went back to your posts and see you are from Australia, so I guess the date is 11/9 and it's Saturday
You might want to add Australia on your signature

Update he ate, two hours late, I waited before shooting, giving 3iu again
Can you add this to the US Tab
Shot here like you have on your World Tab and fill in how many units you gave on both the US and World Tab
@Nate2021
Have you read the 2 dosing methods for Lantus
https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/thr...-low-go-slow-slgs-tight-regulation-tr.210110/

It doesn't seem you are following any of the dosing methods by looking at your spreadsheet
I would monitor him closely since that's the lowest you have shot

Hello thank you I will add all of this in. I got him into remission several years ago with tight regulation. other than the last 9 days he was not with me, someone else was treating him with vet advice. Since he has arrived here I have been doing tight regulation. The meter is a caresens pro, I will add all of this and monitor him closely today

Based on my knowledge I had figured hold the dose, not too unusual to get a good idea of what the dose is doing by the 5th shot at a new dose? And surfing blues. Delayed the shot by two hours until he ate. Do you feel I should have skipped this dose? I am reluctant to skip or reduce and have him go high again rather than hold this dose and see what it does.

Extra info when he got rediagnosed (I am in nz now), he was in someone elses care, and was given 4 shots of 20 units initially by accident, it wasn't discovered until he went low on day 2 of this, so honey and karo wasn't given until after 2 days of... 40units per 24 hours with regular low carb food. I don't know how he survived this, but he did

@Nate2021 I'm not experienced enough to tell you if you should have skipped the dose. Since you shot 2 hours late the members I tagged can tell you how to get back to your regular shooting times
What are your shooting times
And please add TR to your spreadsheet for both US and World Tabs

Hi ladies can you look at his SS because it doesn't look like he's following TR
Thank you

With experience, people following TR will shooting anything above 2.8 (50), but you might want to work your way down to that. If kitty isn't eating, delaying like you did is one option. Also remember that the Lantus won't start working for a couple hours after the shot, so you do have time to get food into him.

Since you shot two hours late today, your next shot will be 12 hours after that. You can make up the time by 15 minutes per shot, or 1/2 hour once per day.

You will need to change your speadsheet to show the actual AMPS BG in the AMPS cell. The other values can go in the +11 from last night, such as 7.4@+12.

Hey thank you for responding. Previously I had worked from 3.5units down to 0 for remission with calipers the works, so felt just the later shoot was the better approach, especially as he seemed to be having a nicer run of numbers. I have updated the bg positions on my ss, thank you for this. He is up to 250 at +5 and ate well at +3, will see how he goes later in the cycle, from recall his ndair was always between +8 and +11 in the past when regulated. Hoping the delayed shot doesn't skew things too much. Thanks again!

Hi @Nate2021 your SS says Oct 10, 2024 in the DX date. Could you put this original DX date there and add his OTJ date as well as the date he fell out of remission (Oct 10, 2024). That way people will be able to see clearly that he is not newly diagnosed and that this is your second rodeo :) Right now it looks like he is newly diagnosed!

If you will give me the dates, I can add them to the SS for you.
