? 10/22 Nola AMPS 80

Finally got both readers tested with their control solutions. I suspect the big differences recorded between handmeter and libre on October 19 & 20 were due to damaged handmeter strips.

The handmeter's first pack of strips I bought seemed to be damaged (3 out of 4). The new pack of strips seem to be working. Also bought some strips for the Libre's control solutions test which were always within accepted range.

This morning at AMPS the sensor was presenting issues and not reading, so I tried pricking her (and I finally got some blood again, I couldn't get any all day yesterday!) I used one of the LIbre strips to reead and record the BG: 80.

Sensor got damaged again, I knew it as soon as I placed it yesterday, that this was happening. It was my first time doing the whole process (shaving, etc.) and I placed it too near her jacket trim, which I realized after I installed it. Sure enough I need to replace it again. Meanwhile I manage to get another one delivered to my house (I dont want to leave her under no supervision after shooting in 80), can someone remind me when should I be taking her BG readings if I only had a handmeter? Was it AMPS, +4 +9, PMPS, +4 +9?

I messed up with the libre sensor installation AGAIN... and I havent been able to get any blood since AMPS. These past days I feel like im failing her massively. I really hope to get some blood at least on PMPS or else I dont really know what else to do. Cant really order a new sensor until the first week of November. I have 2 replacement sensors coming in around Friday. Until then lets hope I can get blood instead of pricking her and stressing her for no blood to come out </3

I’m sorry you are having issues. Just make sure she eats and leave out food if you leave the house.

Are you still using a Prodigy meter? I use that one and once in a while will run across some strips that dont work. I called Prodigy and they replaced the whole bottle after trying one over the phone and having it fail. I think the whole bottle was bad tho. I havent called them when I get one or two because its not likely to to happen the one time on the phone. Just something to keep in mind tho if you find a bottle where most are not working.

Wishing you lots of good luck Jo and Nola. It takes calm and practice to become skilled with Libre installation. Don’t forget to breathe and have all of your supplies set out at hand when you begin. (It’s a lot to have ready to go)

Thats exactly what happened I had a 10 strip bottle that were all bad. I bought a 40 one and those are testing well. Which confirms the Libre was fine all along. I havent been able to test her at all since the libre installation debacle, shes too smart, she KNOWS when Im going to prick her and runs away after complaining vocally :banghead::banghead:. It absolutely kills me that she seems afraid of me. Im definitely setting her up with her new libre at most tomorrow. Hoping the progress she's managed is not all gone..
