I'm at a loss I cannot get him to eat. I'm scared and sad and hate to see him suffering.

I've tried everything...my ss has gone to view only and I can't fix it right now...I got him to pick about a tsp of plain Greek yogurt...I basically force feed about a 1/2 tsp other food...I've offered tuna...scrambled egg....chicken purina...chicken beef purina...salmon tuna purina...turkey purina...even Madisons k/d. And his raw. He was drinking water earlier but is refusing to eat.

I gave a second dose of mirataz almost 2 hours ago. I haven't given cerenia but I am not sure if I should. It seemed to make him more sleepy and woozy and I was hoping he would perk up as it wore off.

Oh Rain , I'm so sorry that LM still won't eat. I wish I had some advice to give you. Hopefully one of the experts will come along with some advice :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm so sorry Little Man is not eating. Here is the list of suggestions to try and get a cat to eat. Maybe something here will work. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Do you have any parmesan cheese? If you maybe sprinkle a little of that on her food, she will perhaps eat? usually ondansetron is better for nausea than cerenia but it doesn't hurt to give her the cerenia....it can help.

Can you finger feed her....either see if she will lick food off your finger or will she let you dab some on the front of her tongue or on the roof of her mouth? Just be careful that it's only a small amount and that you don't get it down her throat.

Here's some info Jill often posts when a kitty won't eat:Here are some things you can do do entice your cat to eat:

-sometimes in order to get a cat to eat you even have to resort to dry it is more important that they eat. there are a couple low carb / grain free brands -- EVO and wellness core.

-making a buffet to give him choices
- heating food

sprinkle food with :
- forta flora -- a probiotic you can get at vets or online. is very smelly and cats love the taste of it.
- parm. cheese
- smashed crumbles of dry food
- Purebites Duck Liver -- crushed and put on as a topper.
- bonito tuna flakes
- halo chicken treats -- crumble into dust over food
- poor a little water from tuna in water over food ( I use low sodium/no sodium added as other kinds in water has veg. broth in it and I assume that means onions, which are toxic to cats-- check labels)
-powdered oregano. yep sounds weird . but some cats like it and it will entice them to eat.

other ideas of foods to offer your kitty to stim appy:
- trader joe tuna for cats
-baby food -- beechnut turkey and broth or chicken and broth. they have no onions or other additives. some babyfoods have onions . please read labels if you can't find beechnut.
- kentucky fried chicken
- deli turkey /chicken
- plain cooked ( boiled or baked ) chicken breast
-canned chicken for people (watch the label that their are no onions)
- chicken broth -- low sodium

I would call the vet in the morning and demand ondansetron because I don’t think cerenia is helping with the nausea. That’s why the mirt might not be working. With Chai it took ondansetron every 6/8 hours and a few days of syringe feeding. She was also having diary’s bad test all I fed came out and she was put in prednisolone. Never got a diagnosis. I know how helpless you feel. Why wouldn’t the vet give you ondansetron? Be firm that you want to try it and get 20 pills.
Did the vet check for ketones? Did you get the lab results?
I wish I had more suggestions.:bighug:

I am not sure if I am really able to help but to share we had a kitty in DKA and probably hepatic lipidosis. She wasn't eating or maybe at best nibbling. We tried mirataz after her being hospitalized and having fluids and electrolytes. When we brought her home, I knew things were bad. I didn't think we had much time with her. I tried everything... a buffet of different foods and warming up food. Nothing was working. I had to force feed her Urgent Care food, a couple of syringefuls every few hours. She hated it but she got to the point where she started to eat again. I know every situation is different so I cautiously add this in case it can help.

I doubt he’s in DKA since he’s never had even ketones and has been in remission until last week. My vet is still pancreatitis and even if that’s not it he needs to get enough food in to prevent hepatic lipidosis. I felt so awful forcing food into Chai but did it anyway just like you did Sheila. Anything he will eat give him. Dry sometimes is easier for them as less odor.
I still would check fake tones just in case. I wish the vet had run even a snap test although I prefer the test to be sent out.

I felt absolutely awful force feeding, but the vet said if she didn't eat, it would get to a point where I couldn't get her to eat no matter what. I didn't want that so I mixed some water in with the food to make a slurry for the syringe. It was a rough couple of weeks, but now she has gotten stronger and is eating on her own again.

I will call vet in morning. Results at earliest will be tomorrow for bloodwork. Might even be Tuesday.

I will give him half of one of my ondansetron all it can do is not be effective.

Should I be feeling positive that he is drinking water on his own?

I love all the food suggestions I will try the parm cheese and tbh if I have to give him dry ill go get some
