Good evening,

we had an almost flat yellow day. I activated the sensor this morning after the shot and thank god everything was working out fine. I just discovered that it is much harder to remove the old libre which the vet prepped with skin-tac. But we will work on that with brava spray and coconut oil and hopefully it will be gone tomorrow.

Tonight I wanted to increase to 1.5 IU but Binie was not eating at all at shot time, so I stayed with 1.25 IU after she licked some churrus. At +1 she vomited again - as always in the last time, after drinking water fast. I hope I get something into her later. We have a very hot day today and maybe that screwed up her appetite. Thank god it becomes cooler again on sunday.

The vet visit left me with some additional worries. I mentioned the vomiting and the drinking and my vet said she hopes that the cause are not Binies kidneys. So far they have been always o.k. So seeing her not well today makes me concerned. Hopefully I get the result of the labs tomorrow and then we will know more. Because I was concerned about her refusing food I measured her ketones at +2 but they are quite alright with 0,1 mmol/dl.

Hope everyone is having a good start in the weekend! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Update: Just saw that my vet sent me an e-mail while I wrote this post: I will fill in the results in the spreadsheet tomorrow but as far as I understood her thyroid is not well balanced and we may have to increase the thyroxin. Also her Kreatinin went up. :(

Besides her leucocytes are much too high so she told me to bring urine to see if she has a bladder infection.

I hoped things would become more calm. :(

Hi Heike, I’m sorry to hear Binie wasn’t eating well. That’s always so scary. I hope she feels better and you can get some food into her.
I’m sending prayers that the lab results don’t mean anything negative :bighug::bighug::bighug:

As far as the Libre removal, the skin tac isn’t an adhesive, it’s supposed to be a moisture barrier. So it shouldn’t make things difficult to remove.
Does the vet use an adhesive of any kind?
I also use Brava spray, coconut oil and baby oil to remove the sensor. It does take some time and gentle work to remove it. (Takes me more time to remove one than apply a new one). I just take my time.
Plus I use the tegaderm and that gets sticky and stuck to her fur. But it seems to work pretty well.

Wishing you a good rest and a safe surf. Keep us posted on the labs and what the vet thinks you should do.
Sending you hugs

Hi Heike. I’m sorry Binie isn’t eating well. Seems Tiger and Karamella didn’t eat well today either…..cats!
Sorry the vet didn’t have any answers for you, only more questions. I hate that so much. Always something new to work out with our babies. Keep us updated on the lab work and urine test.
Wishing you a peaceful quiet night.

Thank you Staci! :bighug::bighug::bighug: I managed to remove the old sensor today with coconut oil. The vet didn't use any adhesive. Just the skin tac and the adhesive which is on the libre. Before, I could always remove it without any effort. But maybe it also has to do with the growing fur, which makes it more sticky. But I don't want to complain. I am happy if they stick tight.

Hope you have a beautiful walk today! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Deb! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Yes, there is always something to worry with our kittys, isn't it? I hope Tiger is still getting better every day and you have a relaxed saturday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
