05/20 Eddie AMPS 371 PMPS 310 +8 367

Lots of teeth grinding noises, chewing on mostly one side, taking a lot longer than normal to eat, and sometimes not wanting to eat.

Glad to hear Eddie's eating.
This is almost exactly what Eddie is doing. Although there's no teeth grinding sounds, he twists his tongue around. I made a super liquid smoothie tonight and that seemed to do the trick. But there's protocol to be followed. I have to hold the bowl up for him and he'll eat for a short time, as long as the food is lickable. When he encounters texture he stops. So tonight I really made a smooth smoothie. But he ate nearly a whole little can of food and a bit, as long as it was liquified. It does take longer and each time he stops I have to pause, take the bowl away, then hold it back up in a few seconds and say, rather precisely, "Alright, Edddie, you need to eat more" and then he does and we repeat the process.

I am so hoping we can get the dental done; that is, that he will be found fit to get the surgery.

He was quite content today so, once again, I did not bother him but let him coast a bit around the house.

I will probably have to increase again but will take it slow since this week in addition to work, I have to get Max to his surgery...

Is his bowl normally elevated? And I mean not by you.
No, he used to eat like a regular cat, with it on the floor...Now he wants it held. After we're done that way and if there's a little in the bowl, I'll leave it on his big pillow and he will go to it at time. Like right now, as I'm typing this!!
