5-1 Mini Purrl AMPS 250

I'm not an expert by any means, but I think the .25 constitutes an increase so you should hold the dose there for 7 days...if you do the 5.5 today and then 6 tomorrow it's kind of like going from 5 to 6 in 5 days, no? Maybe tag an experienced member? Especially if you are worried about new vial potency? Unless you already worked all of this out and I'm just behind in posts- in which case I apologize. I'm basing this on "new-to-me" info from yesterday's thread from @Wendy&Neko
"FYI, with TR, we typically increase by 0.5 units when the dose gets over 5 units. Think of the size of increase as a percentage of the total dose. A 0.25 unit increase of a 2 unit dose is 1/8th of the dose, whereas at 5 units, it's just 1/20th. You want to think about increases around 10%."

So I would think her actual increase isn't much in this case from yesterday's 5.25 to today's 5.5u.

We are doing TR. It seems I held Purrl too long at 5.0, I held her there for 5 days (10 Cycles) after we saw greens. I guess she should have only had 3 days because she only had the one day of green. I was going by this from the TR guidelines:
when your cat starts to see nadirs under 100, hold the dose for at least 10 cycles before increasing.

I guess one nadir isn't enough to hold for 10 cycles, then.

I hope I'm understanding things properly.
 
You were OK going to 5.5 units today. I too preferred dosing on the line. But I'd hold this dose for 6 cycles before going to 6 units.

@Jack & Mopem'sMom Mini Purrl is being dosed with TR, not SLGS. The longest we hold doses with TR, unless tightly regulated, is 5 days/10 cycles and only if seeing green nadirs.

5.0 units was held for 8 days/16 cycles instead of 10 cycles. You count from when the new dose started, not from the green, especially since she'd seen green before. Then 5.25 units for 3 days/6 cycles, which is fine with blue nadirs per TR.

Oh for pity's sake. Count from when the new dose started! I totally didn't get that, obviously. :blackeye: I'm adding that to my notes.

Okay, so I will follow your advice and do 3 days at 5.5, then move up.

No worries - you aren't the first, nor will you be the last on the counting. We typically hold doses with even a single green for 10 days, to see if she gets back to green after any bounce is over. The subtlety is that Mini Purrl isn't new to green.
