Phew! Thank the Lord I set my alarm last night! At 28, that was the lowest I think Shooter has ever been! I also believe 55 is the lowest preshot I've ever done. Thankfully he got a reduction! Now hopefully he surfs safely this afternoon and doesn't climb and mountains or go into anymore valleys. Stick with the beach Shooter. Your mama is a salt life kinda gal. ;)

Wow, Heather!
28! and 55 preshot!:eek::eek:Great job handling those numbers!
Hope Shooter cruises nicely and steadily for you today!

Yes, thankfully he did GREAT this afternoon. :) Ya that 28 was pretty scary! He has never shown any hypo symptoms other than sluggish and his eyes just look glassy. I definitely kept my eye on him from 2:30 - 4:00AM!

I didn't because I thought the .5 increases and decreases were only for over 5 units.
This one of those "know thy cat" and understand the situation kind of things. With Neko, I did 0.5 unit reductions down to about 3.5 units when she was on a downward roll, but that was after SRT so I know her insulin needs were dropping. And she was holding those reductions. Note, I was also reducing at below 70. Same thing for kitties who are on cabergoline.

The other part of the situation here is the acro tumour can wax and wane. Though it's not usually as fast a drop as treatment, it can make some changes in insulin dose needed. But we have no way of knowing if that is happening. And yet another factor, I can't remember whether you had the IAA tested too? If he has IAA and it breaks that can also make for a quick dose drop.

Keep a close eye on him the next few cycles, the 5 unit depot will still be influencing what he does. You'll probably find out soon if 0.25 units will work or you should have reduced by 0.5. Personally I found it easier to take the larger reduction and go back up if I was wrong.

Man, this is all so tricky, isn't it? It's a kind of scary trial and error it seems. I guess all we can do is the best we can do. Thanks Wendy.
