Well last night was interesting... I thought for sure Shooter would bounce after the 44 but he came down again. Am I supposed to be both increasing AND decreasing by .5 when he's at 5 units or more? Also, TR says to decrease when they go below 40 but what if I catch it in time to feed him thru it but know that he would have gone below had it not been caught?

I'm glad you went with the 5.0 units. Above 5 units, changes are usually by 0.5 units at a time, unless kitty has shown they cant hold those large a changes.

Also, you will see what works for Shooter, but I ignored the long term diabetic rules for Neko. When she earned a reduction, she typically held it. Note for lurkers, both Neko and Shooter had/have acromegaly which means rules really need to be tailored for the particular cat.

What were you feeding, LC, MC or HC? We don't feed HC to prevent reductions, cause it'll come back and bite you at some point. At this point I'd be patient with 5 units and see where it gets you.
