It’s okay to just give Sir Maximus small amounts of food. Every cat vomits once in a while.
With ProZinc we don’t wait until they’ve finished eating to shoot the insulin. The only exception to this would probably be a cat who vomits daily (which in itself would not be normal.). Sir Maximus doesn’t usually vomit.

I really don’t want you to skip the dose now that we’ve gotten him into better numbers. Try a small amount of food. It’s not imperative that he eat a big meal at first (like it would be if he were on Vetsulin.). Just let me know what’s happening.

Hi Suzanne , I gave him the shot and gave him a small amount of food and he drank sum water. He doesn't usually vomit so maybe he ate to fast. He did in the middle of night sound like he was going to vomit but he only spat out a little water. He does that sometimes when a hairball is coming.

Okay good. He is certainly a big fluffy boy! One of my fluffies vomited up a lot of hair and brownish (food) liquid last night.

Since he has been on wet food the hairballs our less frequent, he always has been a big groomer. I always hate to see just liquid and no hairball like last night. If he was getting a hairball he usually wont eat till he gets rid of it.

He is one 155 so I hope that food will slow the shot down because he usually eats a half can pre shot.

Thank you

Just keep up the snacks of wet food at regular intervals.

Hi Suzanne I was looking at Shawn's SS ,trying to understand, didn't Sir Maximum earn a reduction since he dropped under 90 yesterday during the AM cycle, or am I missing something
No. We’ve worked very hard to get him into good green. Shawn just needs to change his dosing method to MPM or put a custom reduction point in there. Sir Maximus will not do well with a reduction at this point. But this can be done later after he gets Sir Maximus to eat.

He usually does pretty well on the LC, but I would feel more comfortable (just because it’s so early in the cycle) if you could test him again in 30 minutes so we can see how he’s doing. I am going to set myself an alarm for 30 minutes.

He ate it. Usually i give him a 1tsp and half so he i can either give a little med carb or some more low carb
If he ate the tsp. Of low carb that is okay — although there’s no harm in giving him a few more carbs (MC) if he likes it and will eat. Normally not, but it’s early in the cycle so okay. But please do test in 30 minutes so we can see if you need to do any more.

Now at 64 , probably should go high carb? He did not get any med carbs earliar only low carbs

Did you know that you can put a “hard return” and get your data onto one line — when you are entering extra tests into a cell — by pressing the Ctrl key at the same time as you hit the return/enter key. Then you control where the text will be broken up. Of course, this is on a real keyboard. Not sure how to do this on a phone — I would have to look it up. I never do spreadsheets on a phone.
