2/18 Tweety AMPS 377 +1 362 +2 356 +5 239 PMPS 283 +1 306 +2 327

Hi friends, we were SLGS until Friday 2/16 and opting for TR.

After tonight she will have had 3 full cycles of the 1.25u which is the new TR dose. Having been on 1u previously for at least 5 days/10 cycles.

The day after increase to 1.25u she went to 99 nadir after PMPS... but nothing that low since. So I am unsure based on the info provided if she should go up or not in the dose since she technically did get below 100 during these 3 days.

Under increasing the dose in the Sticky - Tweety does not fit into one category. It says if she is between 200-300 increase by .25 but if she is greater than 300 increase by .5

Tweety has been BOTH the last 3 days... so inconsistent.

Am I correct in thinking: I can increase Tweety to 1.5u tomorrow (from 1.25) but should hold that dose of 1.5u for at least 6 cycles (3 more days) *UNLESS she earns a drop which would be under 50 on a human reader. I just bought the Reliant handheld to use as backup to the Libre readings.

I sure hope this makes sense. Thx for bearing with it!

I've merged your two threads of the day into one. There are so many people/cats posting here that it's easier to keep track of things if we are only dealing with one daily thread. When you have a new question during the day, just go the first post of the thread, use the Thread Tools drop down (top right) and select Edit Thread. That lets you change the subject line. For a question, change the title prefix to "?" and modify the subject line to paraphrase the question. When it's been answered, remove the "?" title prefix so we know you have an answer. Some of us scan all threads of the day looking for questions and it's less work if we know someone else has already answered the question.

As to you question, with TR, we hold all doses at least six cycles/three days. Depending on the nadirs, we may hold it longer. With a green nadir, which you saw on the PM cycle of 2/16, you hold for 10 cycles or five days. Not all nadirs have to be green, you want to answer the question "how low can this dose take my cat". Right now she could still be bouncing, hence the higher numbers. We want to see where the nadirs end up when the bounce is over. So it's time to wait at least 5 more cycles. If she does need an increase at that time, it would be by 0.25 units.

Thank you Wendy. Sorry about the double post. Appreciate the info about 5 more cycles very much!!

Good luck, Teya. I'm watching this with interest.
Thanks so much... lots to learn. Looks like you are newer as well. I was *really* overwhelmed at first and sometimes still am. If you ever feel that way just know you are not alone. Baby steps, day at a time. They are all so great here and one day things just start clicking. Even if you are like me and have to read it multiple times! Thanks again and hope your kitty is doing well!

No worries about the double post - not uncommon.:bighug:
Thank you - definitely still learning the ropes! I was surprised to see Tweetys PMPS in the 280s so very interested to see how she rolls tonight at +3 and on! I would say wish us luck, but I already know you are. :bighug:

Yup. Very new the whole diabetes thing and just like you very overwhelmed. The diagnosis just blindsided me. I was thinking thyroid or kidney problems. Diabetes never even entered my mind. I'm working on it though and I do read stuff multiple times and make printouts for a binder I keep as well as searchable documents on the computer. I also got a better vet, so that helps. And you're right, baby steps and one day at a time. :)

You've asked good questions and and it helps to have those out there with answers that can be reference points.

Ditto, I had no idea Tweety was diabetic. It was shocking and my mom had just passed less than 2 weeks prior. I was reeling. I found this board not very long ago. I'm SO SO SO grateful. I've learned more here in these weeks than I have in months anywhere else.

I'll be thinking of you and watching out for your posts and questions! Day at a time, hour when need be. This gets very manageable everyone says. I Trust they're right. HUGS :bighug:
