PMPS 196

We definitely get blues during the day and some after PMPS. If he wasn't on other medicines, I would say all we need is a dose increase to keep him blue. But he's on budesonide which may be affecting bgs a bit.

The meter had the low battery icon and I nearly panicked :nailbiting: I couldn't remember if I had an extra battery stored with Squishy's old meter (anyone remember those annoying code keys?) I didn't but I did find extra button type batteries in the drawer where I keep extra batteries of various types. Phew.

Question - how long is a pen good for? We started the pen on Jan. 19. The expiration date on the vet hospital printed label says expires on Feb. 16, 2024. Do I need to buy a new pen by then or is a pen still good to nearly the last drop or whenever bgs start being wonky?

If you keep the pen in the fridge, it's good until it runs out. Longest I used Neko's cartridge (pen refill) was around 90 days.

With SLGS, you keep that dose if he's seeing nadirs in the 90-149 range, hopefully you'll see more soon.

Bgs didn't go anywhere  I did put a new battery in after PMPS. Maybe the old battery was giving wonky numbers?

It looks like nadir is somewhere around +7 maybe a little later. From the few AM numbers, PMPS was lower than +7:confused:. PM is a whole different story because of the budesonide.

Wendy, I have a vial I’m using and we began it mid October. I don’t see any floaties or anything. Are you saying 90 days is the max to use a vial? Or can I use it till the end, will be a while…. (Kept in fridge if course)
Thanks @Wendy&Neko
