The Purina Hydracare may be causing some increase in Max’s numbers. I can’t say for sure. Does anyone else know if Purina Hydracare has carbs? I can’t seem to find that info anywhere. It looks like mostly water on the label, but it does have some additives in it. He also could be bouncing maybe. I’ve finally been able to get him to drink the Hydracare so I’ve not been doing the subq fluids. IM vet’s recommendations, so I’m trying to follow that. They overnighted the Telmisartan and I got that today so I will start it tomorrow and discontinue the amlodipine and enalapril. I’ve read something about a supplement called Porous One for CKD. Anybody using that? I’m hoping changing the BP meds will help make his kidney values look better. Supposed to recheck BP, labs, and get an ultrasound of the kidneys two weeks after starts the Telmisartan.

Hi Lori, I’m not familiar. Maybe post a question either here or in the main forum for more eyes on the concern? Just a suggestion. :)
 
I think I answered my own question about the Hydracare. Max had some at am+8 and at am+10 he was still flat, so maybe it doesn’t have a lot of carbs in it after all.
 
I read something that said 1.84 grams of carbs per package. Not sure how that works out to carbs% per calories without doing more work.

You might want to put a post on Feline Health specifically asking about Hydracare and/or Telmisartan, to get more eyes specific to them.

Love the pic, especially the matching jammies and collars. :)

Thank you Wendy! Max didn’t want to behave in the pic. He’s the mischievous one.

Yeah, I seriously doubt the Hydracare is a problem, but I will post something over in feline health.
