So after Fred had a low AMPS number of 110 for the first time I wasn’t sure what to do.

Ended up holding food and shot an extra hour still was at 107 at that time. Decided to just feed and shoot but with a reduced dose of 4U and watch his numbers closely (his libre prescription is due for me to pick up in a few hours) so I’m spot checking at the moment.

what would be the correct way to do this if it happens again in the future? I know some people shoot low to stay low and I was trying read to figure out if that would be a thing I can do with Fred but I wasn’t positive so looking for anymore recommendations I can get for him :cat:

Hi. With TR you can shoot if over 50, you have plenty of test strips or in your case can scan the Libre, and have hc, mc. and honey or Karo. Stalling without food is fine but sometimes the BG drops too low to shoot. Since bg was stable and not dropping I would have shot a full dose and monitored closely. Shooting the slightly lower dose likely did not effect the bg this cycle because you have a depot.

It’s good you are starting to post here. Welcome to LLB.

Thank you!! I’ve posted here before but I’m definitely not as diligent as I should be with it! I’ll start making it a priority from now on :cat:

didn’t realize it’s been as long as it has here’s my last post on this board (here) i was trying to post at least every other day but get busy with life.

You do not need to post daily. Post when you need help or to share updates.

awesome thank you. I definitely see now I shouldn’t have worried as much as he’s already at 203 at +2

So now that he’s off schedule by an hour how bad would it be to give him his shot at his normal time tonight? (So an hour early technically) think that would be okay? I’ll obviously reconsider if his numbers at lower at that time.

You can move the shot 1/2 hour once per day, or 15 minutes per cycle without an impact. Should he be really high (over 400), you could shoot an hour early, but just the one time. Check at +11 and see where he is.

Since you shot an hour late, it's good to indicate that on the spreadsheet. You could put 107@+13 in the AMPS cell. You can put 110@+12 in the +11 cell from last night. Larger changes in shot time can influence the numbers, so good to know those changes.

As far as this morning goes, you could have shot that 110 and full dose if you were around to monitor. You are not really shooting the AMPS number, but where the number will be a couple hours later just before onset happens. Since you did test +1 and +2, you can see that he would have been safe with the full dose today. But all good data for next time. Eventually you'll have enough data on shooting low that you'll have a good idea what he'll do.

Perfect! Filled it all in. And just the info I needed to put my mind at ease I’ll definitely remember that for the next time. Thanks again! Appreciate the help :bighug:
