08/01 Mouse PMPS 284, +2.75 300, +6.5 197

If not eating well but you can monitor and syringe feed I’d shoot .75.
I'm nervous about give full dose since last night her PMPS was 357 and she dropped down to 137 by +8.5 and that was with .50U and syringe feeding that I started around +3... I'm afraid of her going hypo especially with not eating on her own. Do you still think I should do .75U... Would that possibly pull her out of whatever is causing her to not eat and if I do .75u how often will I need to test and syringe feed? Please let me know asap.. I need to shoot now

She has not been close to hypo. Big drops happen but she has not seen green or low blue. Remember normal bg is 50-100. With an infection you don’t want to risk DKA by not giving enough insulin. With SLGS you shoot if over 200. Get another test.

We cross posted. Good job shooting. Btw there’s a good chance she would have had a similar cycle last night with .75. How late was the shot? Start with a +2 test.

Last night we were an hour past our normal shot time and this morning another ½ hour past that (normal shot time 8:30am and 8:30pm, give or take a few minutes... Last night was around 9:30 and this morning 10... I figure I'll worry about walking it back, 15 min at a time, later)

Will you or somebody be around today Incase this goes south?
On a side note mouse lick a little gravy from the top of a can of friskies mixed grill a little bit ago but wouldn't actually eat the food.

@Chris & China (GA) just wondering if I should give Mouse Cerenia again tonight since she's been on and off eating on her own, she's still not quite eating her normal amount, also wondering if I should give atleast 50ccs of subq fluids just to be sure shes well hydrated. Can she have mirataz later on to give her appetite a bit of a boost? These are the things I was thinking might be a good idea but would certainly appreciate your opinion on whether or not it sounds like a solid plan for tonight. Btw, already shot the .75 without hesitation!

Good for you!!!

Yes, I'd give the Cerenia and the 50mls of fluids and then after the Cerenia has had a chance to work, try the Mirataz. We always want to make sure they're not nauseous before using an appetite stimulant. Nobody feels like eating when they're sick to their stomach and cats are no different.

What was his PMPS? It's not on the spreadsheet yet but looks like he's had a pretty stable cycle so far!

Her PMPS is 284, spreadsheet updated now... I was thinking of waiting atleast an hour or 2 after giving cerenia before considering giving the mirataz also do you think the quarter tab would still be a good dose or would it be reasonable/ ok to do a half tablet? Don't want to give to little bit certainly don't want to give too much...she weighed 5.4 lbs. at the end of last month but they I guess they didn't weigh her when she was there a week ago...

Why are you adding pumpkin?

Yes, I think 1/4 tab would be fine. As your evening (or day) go on, pay close attention to how she seems to be doing...like is she showing interest in eating but basically just sniffs, licks her lips and walk away? That's a sign that maybe the 1/4 pill isn't controlling her nausea so you could go up to 1/3 or 1/2

That's what the lady in syringe feeding video did to add fiber and stuff... I figured it couldn't hurt and maybe keep things moving since she hasn't been moving around much lately... Or probably cause I'm tired and it didn't seem like a terrible idea...
