Still early into Dodger's diagnosis. I was feeding him the Fancy Feast chicken and turkey pates. He was eating them well when his appetite was really ravenous. Lately he's gotten pickier and doesn't always want to eat at the scheduled morning and evening times when I need to administer insulin. Wondering if he's just tired of eating the same thing? Naturally, I just bought a whole case of each LOL.
My co-worker gave me a ton of Blue Tastefuls Chicken Entree (spoonless singles) that her cats wouldn't eat. This has become my go-to food when Dodger gets picky. He always eats it. I want to buy more in the regular can size, but I couldn't find the Blue Tastefuls listed in the food chart on this site. I went on Chewy and the carbs aren't listed. I did find these answers in the Q&A sections. Copied below:
The chicken: "This recipe has a carbohydrates content of 1.74% as fed."
The turkey and chicken mixed: "Blue Buffalo Tastefuls Turkey & Chicken Entrée Pate Wet Cat Food has approximately 2.85% carbohydrates on an as fed basis. Due to your pet's diagnosed condition, we recommend speaking to your vet to see if this is suitable for your pet's current diet plan."
These seem like super low numbers, but are they accurate? Just want to run it by you all first to make sure. Any opinions on Blue Tastefuls in general also appreciated.
ETA: I didn't look up the seafood varieties because Dodger doesn't seem to like any fish flavors.
