Hello, pls see attached spreadsheet my Tigera has been in the blue’s numbers lately and her amps is 9.5 we are in Canada (Ontario) but I converted the spreadsheet to USA . Pls advise thank you

You could start with a +2 and if lower, get a +3. Feed a little at +1 and +2.

With SLGS, you hold a dose for 1 week before evaluating it.
Thanks is a week similar to the “6 cycles”? So I should be re evaluating her dose now then right? But I have no idea what to do with her dose . Do I go up to 4.50 or stay at 4.25?

Each cycle is 12 hours. So 1 day has 2 cycles. A week would be 14 cycles in all.

But I have no idea what to do with her dose . Do I go up to 4.50 or stay at 4.25?
For the amount you test, you could follow TR. Does Tigera eat only low carb canned food?

I don’t always get a chance to test her , when I don’t work I get to test often but when I work , I sometimes can’t test her at all. With her food it’s been a challenge . She is currently eating Farmina venison and pumpkin as of 4 days ago - it has ME CARB of 2.2% prior to that she was eating Farmina urinary duck with ME carb of 7%. The venison is lower carb but it is higher in sodium and phosphorus which she has ckd and her levels of her kidneys as very high now she also has proteinuria which is constantly going up she is at 0.6 now and it is getting dangerous. The Farmina is higher in protein so I was told that is what is increasing her kidney values (bun and creatinine) . However, if I reduce her protein and increase the fat in her diet , she runs the risk of gaining weight (she has in the past gained 1kilo in one month on a high fat diet), and she runs the risk of pancreatic flares … where she sits in loaf position and gets sick. She also runs risk of bile duct obstruction with higher fat food. So I don’t know what to do and what to feed her . Many foods with xanthan and other gums also irritate her and cause her to have flares. Tiki cat food has sunflower oil which seems to bother her too she sits in loaf position and has pain and lip smacks on that food. Farmina seems like the only food she can tolerate . But again, the venison one she is on now has low carb , but higher sodium and higher phosphorus so I don’t know what to do she won’t eat raw and in Canada we have crap raw food companies. The raw food from USA i full of ice burn and hard to find. I can’t make her raw food as as single parent and shift worker I don’t have the time- and she never liked raw in the past

Looks like the food change has made a big difference to her numbers. You are dealing with so many issues on the food front, that I can understand how hard it is. Have you looked at Weruva? They have a lot of low carb low phos food options and they have put up detailed nutritional info on their website.

What stage CKD is she at? Do you have her latest labs? What are her phosphorus levels? Will she eat the Farmina venison and pumpkin if you were to mix phosphorus binder with it? That's one way to reduce phosphorus levels. At later stages of CKD, you might have to feed renal food and adjust the dose of insulin accordingly.

Is she on meds for the proteinuria? Did the vet check her BP?

@Carole & Indigo is from Canada and she feeds Indigo raw food.

Yes, she was on semintra for the protenuria. She has a specialist appointment with an internal vet who repeated her blood work since she started the semintra and said to stop semintra as her kidneys got worse and she suspected it was semintra. She told me to repeat the blood in 2 weeks. I waited 3 weeks and repeated the blood last week and her kidneys are the same (urea is worse ) and her protenuria is higher (worse). So I told the vet it doesn’t seem like semintra harmed her and since her protenuria is worse , should we start the semintra again? She said she would check with the internal medicine vet but she is off for a week. So I said i am very worried , and the regular vet said to start her on semintra again , but half of the dose only. Tigera is 6.6 kilos and her dose is 2 kilos. As for Weruva , I did look at it. As mentioned in my previous message , it contains a lot of gums (xantham, guar, locust bean) and I feel she can’t tolerate these gums and that they cause digestive upset . I have a few articles that prove that guar gums can aggravate pancreatic issues. Infact, when she was eating food that contained guar gum, she has a severe pancreatic issue and bile duct obstruction and was hospitalized for 5 days where she almost didn’t make it. This was just last year in May. Then her vet said to feed her hills biome. 3 months later she developed diabetes (the hills biome is 32% carbs a can) I didn’t pay attention to that as I was so worried about her pancreas and wanted her to get better . I’m so mad at myself … I believe that food gave her diabetes. The reason I wanted to stick with Farmina is that it is the only food she seems to tolerate, no gums at all, she doesn’t get any flares and doesn’t vomit on this food. Weruva has too many gums that can harm her pancreas .

Feed some more. Can you get a +5 or +6?

The upload function doesn't work. Can you copy the file to Google drive and share the link?
oh I don’t know how to do that Chris is the one who did my spreadsheet for me since I didn’t know how to do it
I can get a +6 I think and yes I fed her again

Blue needs a low phosphorus food and I feed him a blend of Weurva "Press Your Lunch" and b.f.f. "Chicken Check Mate". I usually can't find the former in any pet food store but it is available at PetOnly and online pet food store based in Ontario. I think that's where you are?? Order online and delivered promptly. Pretty good prices, too.

Thanks for that … as mentioned in my previous messages , unfortunately the 2 foods you feed contain too many “gums” as thickeners and bff has sunflower oil. These have aggravated Tigera’s pancreas in the past …
