Not sure if he bounced from going into blues yesterday. Did see him just drink a little which he hasn't been doing. Increased his dose to 1.75.

Nice cycle. Feed lc unless there’s a drop into 50’s now when you would feed mc, around 10-12% to keep from going under 50. Normal on a human meter is 50-100.

We just gave him the first new dose this AM, does that matter? Plus we don't see drops like this except when I shot him in the muscle once, I dont think I did that this time.

You are following SLGS so any drop under 90 means you decrease by .25. That becomes the new dose going forward for 7 days unless there is another drop under 90 before then which means another reduction.

Still 75 at +6.5, food seems to just be keeping him the same, I am guessing we keep giving it to him or wait another 30 minutes and check?

Guess worried he is flat cause we keep giving him a little food each check? So if we dont this time he could drop decently or not?

Sorry we haven't gone through something like this before with him so don't really know what it means and don't want to do anything wrong.

I think it’s a nice flat Lantus cycle. You Dan feed lc and check in 30-45 if you want. It’s scary the first time I know but he’s in really safe BG.

So one clarification. His diet isn't 100% LC. Currently its 70% Royal Canin D, considered HC and 30% Weruva BFF considered LC (we were planning to start changing him to 50/50 maintaining the same calories). So we have been feeding him some of the LC but also some of the RC throughout this.

So even when he has been getting the RC which is HC it's keeping him flat it seems. But most likely cause he is used to it, been on HC kidney food forever (was on Hills KD which is ridiculous HC) and slowly trying to get him reduced. So our actual HC food would probably be the Hills KD and our MC would be Royal Canin E since it is a little higher carb wise.

+7 79, hasn't had food in an hour so thats good, didn't decrease without food. Won't check every 30 minutes now, probably do a +8 just to be sure? Gets a normal meal at +8.45

You want to avoid feeding carbs after his nadir. Do you think that going forward, you could feed low carbs for his +8 meal? Or would that give him a tummy upset. Ideally you wan to feed most if not all the food in the first part of the cycle and not feed after his nadir.

Hmm when we switch to the new 50/50 he will generally be getting a lot less carbs per meal. We could potentially remove some additional RC at the +8.75 AM (7:30PM) meal, and give him more of the Weruva. But we would need to move/take from one of his other meals. Maybe the AM shot at 10:30 am meal which is his pre-shot meal? He does the best at that one and the PM 5.25 since they are the longest apart.

Do you need to feed at +8 (except in bounce clearing cycles where is nadiring at the end of the cycle)? What if you were to feed till +6 and not after till PMPS? Does he not do well with that long a gap between meals?

He has been on this schedule basically since he was 1 when him and his brother couldn't be free fed and ate everything and were huge. So vet said to try smaller meals throughout the day, we picked those times back then due to our schedule and they both lost the weight they needed to. He is just so used to the routine that he gets up and waits, plus our other 2 cats follow the same feeding schedule.

We should at least be able to make the majority of that meal the LC Weruva but yea I don't see him adjusting well to not eating around then.
