Hi all, Ive been recommended to start posting here. Kitkat and I have graduated I think. :cat:
I am quite new and still learning, but have been a bookworm of all the links, info that is posted here.
Summary:
Dx:Oct 31 , treatment started Nov2
Lantus / Accu-Chek Guide
Proper dosage yet to be determined
several dosage reductions in the last several days, withheld doses as his numbers keep dropping.
Kitkat appears to have his own agenda and looks like he is on his own mission!

Hi Melinda, great to see you post over here.
On this forum you start a new post each day as it’s a busy forum and it’s easier for helpers not to have to read back too far. But.by linking your precious post they can go back if needed for more information.
So your post each day should be Date/ Kitkat/ AMPS XXX and then a question or just the +2 +4 etc.
You can use the prefix of the ? in the subject line to gain attention if you have a question. You can tag people here as you could on the main health page.

I see 103 for +6 so he is on the way back up. I think you could stop testing til PmPS now
Did you think about changing the schedule to earlier so you can get some pm tests in before bed?

To everyone here: Kitkat arrived in 4 units which was too high a dose and Melinda and Matt were unable to shoot both cycles. We tried 2 units and then 1.5 but still unable to shoot both cycles. So now trying 1 unit. They have been unable to test during the night because of a 9.30/9.30 schedule so did not shoot lower numbers in the pm cycle. I have suggested they think about trying an earlier time schedule so they can get in at least one pm cycle test.
 
Thanks Bron, Yes we wil hold off on tests now until his PMPS so husband Matt (the BG tester) and Kitkat both keep their sanity.
Major success today in discussing the schedule change, we will work on getting it adjusted to an earlier start time and willingness to go into late evenings.
I will adjust this thread title tonight to be in proper format for his PMPS test.
 
Thank goodness you found this forum to help him find the right dose from such a high beginning dose. Good for you for working hard to get him where he needs to be. He’s a handsome guy!
 
Hi! Big thankyou for the welcome. We will be taking Kitkat's PMPS in 15 minutes. Wondering if he has earned a reduction once again today? (I am posting a smidge early since I just arrived today.) Kitkat is running this show and changes are very frequent now.

in all honesty, It worries me greatly to shoot him at 0.75 U. I would much more comfortable with a token dose or even a skip if it's safer.
We can do a +2 (husband will begrudgingly do it), but no chance of any further after that and he may drop again. We need to change our schedule before we can do so.
