Hi Adrienne. That s Boullardii looks fine. Visbiome is a probiotic that is highly recommended for cats with intestinal lymphoma. I’m sorry the diarrhea hasn’t yet improved. Hope it will soon be better.

Is prednisolone the only treatment that you have decided upon for now? I do hope it will help her to feel better. What is her dose?

Hi Suzanne,
Molly has had diarrhea for a week now! She was on cerenia once a day. I thought that was causing her diarrhea. So I stopped giving it to her. The predisolone is 1ml once a day. I do have CBD oil but haven't started her on that yet. I'm just thinking the diarrhea is from her cancer?
 
Cerenia isn’t known to cause diarrhea. In fact, it’s anti inflammatory in the GI tract. I would not stop it. Also, you should ask your vet about Metronidazole- not for the antibiotic portion of it but for the anti inflammatory effect. Your vet would know if it was contraindicated for any reason. Has she had any other food change lately? Any new foods you have given lately?

I have been feeding her dry food. She wasn't eating well, and I started to feed her kibble. I might as well put her back on the Cerenia.

I agree with feeding her whatever she likes and whatever makes her happy. I did the same.

However, any abrupt food changes in cats can cause diarrhea. I hope that is all it is and will resolve soon.

Thanks Suzanne, I called the vet and the recommended probiotic. But the on call doctor is going to call me back. I don't see any point of stressing her out taking her in to see a doctor. But do you think the dry food would be causing this? it's been a week feeding her dry food. But she also still eats her moist food.

Well, in Molly’s case there’s a lot going on so it’s hard to say about the diarrhea cause. I’m just saying that food changes are notorious for causing diarrhea in cats, but sometimes you have no choice! I’ve been in that situation too. I also totally agree about not stressing her out by going to the vet. They should be able to just talk with you by phone to answer questions and give prescriptions that you can pick up from them.
