@Bandit's Mom So I am wondering if I should stall a little and feed more? It's shot time and I have never done a shot this low. It is also my wedding day tomorrow so I kinda wanted to get a good night sleep.

So the "event you have to go to" tomorrow night is your wedding? :) Congrats! Just catching up on your previous posts, as well as the last one here: https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/12-4-jasper-amps-338-shot-question.271485/

Looks like Jasper is breaking a bounce. There's a good chance tonight will be an active cycle. If you stall you do NOT feed. If you have fed, then that influences the BG numbers and you don't know if he went up because of the food, or because the cycle was coming to it's end and going up naturally. If you haven't fed yet, I'd test again now and see if he's on his way up on his own now.

If it were me, I'd call tomorrow special circumstances, and shoot a reduced dose. You may still have an active first part of the cycle, due to the depot and bounce breaking, but it would be not as bad as if you shot the full dose. I also would hesitate to say skip, given his DKA past. Note to any lurkers, this is not what we'd normally suggest, which is to shoot the full dose, and let him tell you if he's done with this dose.

Considering you are 1.25 hours past your shot time and your big day tomorrow, you could give a token dose of 1U. If you can't stay up to monitor, feed him some carbs to keep him safe.

Tomorrow morning you can shoot 11.5 hours from tonight's shot time. He might just be high enough from the skip and bouncing that you can shoot the full dose.

When do you have to leave after the AM shot?

@Bandit's Mom Ok I can test before bed in about 45 minutes. Should I also leave some hc food out tonight? Do you think I should also reduce his dose tomorrow? I actually get married tomorrow abd hsve a reception the following day and I am not sure what the best way to proceed over the weekend is.

What you do for food will depend on his numbers when you test him next.

As for what to do the next couple days, what does Jasper typically do after a visit to the 70's? Add in the impact of a reduced dose.

Then you might just be able to give the full shot. See where he is at AMPS.

I know you cannot stay up - hence the token dose. Leave some food out.
@Bandit's Mom I just realized I was replying to the wrong people above thinking I was just speaking with you. I think I am already pretty tired from the last minute wedding stuff and being 6 months pregnant.

Leave out some normal LC food and call it a night. Try and get a test when you wake up in the morning. It might be +10 or +11 or so. That will give you time to figure out what to do at AMPS.
