It’s pawty time! Tonight, we celebrate the full Cold Moon! Of course there will be traditional favorites as purrpared by my mentors, Chef Felix, Chef Rusty, and the Kitchen Krews of yore at Cold Moons past:

Appetizers: Icy Cold Adirondack Microbrews; Hot Tuna Toddies; Roasted Squirrel Sausages; Spicy Buffalo Chicken Wings; Assorted Paw Prints Pizzas; Hot Pumpkin Soup with Crunchy Croutons specially made by Felix; Sushi Bar featuring the specialties of Sushi Chef Tux as well as Chef Neko's fabulous sushi rolls (made with ice-caught lake trout).

Entrees: Chef Rusty's Thunderin' Bison Chili; Grilled Wild Turkey Legs; Pan-fried Snowshoe Hare; Chef Mannie's Renowned PNW Poached Sockeye Salmon with Catnip Mayo; BigMac's Burger Extravaganza.

Salads: Butthead's & Donny's Braised Winter Roots; Hot Confetti Slaw.

Desserts: Moon Pies; Tobey's Cimmamum Cookies; Maggie's Signature Cranberry Cheesecakes; Plum Pudding à la Chief Pastry Chef Tess; Surprise Dessert à la Dessert Chef Sootie; Chef Stu's World Famous Catmint Parfaits.

Newer traditions include Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles; Chef Felix's Sweet and Savory Crunchy Crouton Toppers; Olive's Shoelaceghetti with a side of pickles; TinySolé's sister Cookie's cod brownies filled with catnip; PussCatDusty's crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers (mmmmm, crunchy!) as well as her sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls; Chef Felix's Mediterranean platter with crunchy falafel, catmint mewli-tabouli, and smoked papurrika hummouse; Chieflet Luna's Longtail Surprise à la Rosa and Regan. You'll find Bella's Catinis at the Tiki Hut.

For any kitties not feeling up to pawtying, the Taster Blankets including Olive’s Memorial Blanket will be set up away from the craziness for you. Roxi will be running notes back to me and the Kitchen Krew to make sure the food is as good as can be. The blankets have a great view of the Circle of Remembrance too, and all the other kitties will join you at midnight as the veil thins to see all our precious Gone Ahead kitties. We’re going to make sure there are plenty of extra blankets for everyone to snuggle in if they feel cold too. If anyone needs a blanket, we’ll be stashing them by the Taster Blankets.

Our very own in-house dance troupe, “Ruby and the Kittens” will be showing off their moves to entertain everyone. They tell me they’ve been working on a Christmas themed dance for everyone, so try to catch them in action if you can (and join in too – they love that)! This is, of course, our last Full Moon of the year, so do make sure to join in and have lots of fun.

DJ Molly will be playing all your favorite music and is ready to take requests for anything you want to hear.

So find your best pawty outfits and come join the pawty!

Our pawty is in full swing. We're having so much fun - yes, it's cold but with all the dancing and feasting, we don't really notice it too much. We've built a campfire too to help us stay extra warm. Our pqwty will continue until dawn, but in a few minutes it will be time for the Circle of Remembrance - the best time of every full moon pawty when we get to see our beloved GAs pawtying alongside us at the Bridge. First we must add more wood to the fire to make sure we don't get cold when we pause our dancing. And we want to make sure everyone has a full glass to toast our GAs and wish them happy holidays. We will see them again in the New Year, of course. So gather round kitties, find a warm spot, make sure your glass is charged and get ready for the most special time of the evening. The Krew will be joining you, as always, to celebrate the lives of those who have gone before us and to pass along special Christmas greetings from our beans. ~Chef Luna
 
Thanks for the party Luna and all! I know my kitties are eager for some lessons from Ruby and the Kittens, 'cause they want to dance, dance, dance!

I didn't attend last moon's party because my stepfather died that night. My kitties were at the party though, and they told me they saw their PawPaw pat a few kitties he used to know and then walk off across a field with several GA doggies who'd been waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for him.:rb_icon:

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know your stepfather is right there taking care of all the family's GA cats and dogs. It doesn't make it any easier to bear, but I really do believe we will all be reunited with our loved ones (human and fur) when it is our time to cross the Bridge.

Susan, I am so sad to hear of your stepdad's passing. I'm sure that he has a lovely reunion with his GA doggies. Sincere condolences to you and your family.
 
Gus had a great time at the Cold Moon Party. We were in NY City where it wasn't very cold, but the full moon was enormous. I'm glad all the kitties had such fun. Thanks to Chef Luna for that super menu, to all the sous chefs and the Kitchen Krew, and to DJ Molly for spinning such great songs. Happy Holidays to everyone!
