A week since last check-in! With the exception of one high reading 12hrs after prednisolone, Emma appears to be settling in to her "Drop" dosage. She starts at 150-200 pre-shot (way better than even a month ago) and moves towards 105 at +5. Since she has been stable, I've slowly reduced in recent days her kibble amount and I hope she'll reward me with readings in 120-175 pre-shot.

Thanks again for your care and advice, FDMB! Emma really and truly has improved because of you all.

Mm, a reading at 83 at +6. Maybe this was predictable, since the prednisolone has all but worn off (she's due to receive more this evening). There was green 4 days ago at this time and 8 days ago and 12 days ago (I give it to her now every 4 days).

Since she's only at a drop, I assume I still do nothing, because she's still not stable at the 80-120 range, right? I almost feel like I'm near TR territory as I'm almost done feeding dry food with SLGS. (I recently decreased from 5g of kibbles per cycle to 4g, and as of two days ago, down to 3g.)

Wow! The tapering of pred and dry food has made quite a difference to her numbers. Yes, once you are done with the kibble, you can switch to TR. :)
Will the pred be tapered any further?
Thanks! I will see what I can do. When I finish teaching in person in early December, I might be able to monitor often enough for TR.

I'm not sure what to do with the pred. I'm giving a half-pill of 5mg tablets every 4 days, which is basically nothing. It used to be that if I didn't give her a half pill every 2 days, she vomited. Then as I reduced dry food and fed more of the new limited ingredient wet food, I could stretch it longer.... 2.5 days, 3, 3.5. She vomited once or twice at 3.5, but I think it was a "I"m stressed/hungry" vomit. So I think I'll keep it at every 4th day while I'm reducing kibbles. Of course it means she very predictably spikes the next day (like this morning!) but it's been clearing out fairly quickly.

Try feeding smaller meals more frequently and see if that helps with the vomit? Say a snack at +2 after PS?
She gets a snack at +2 and +5! It works well. She used to vomit quite frequently - even when not eating. (And she used to eat 5x dry snacks a day, and still vomited without pred.) I'm pretty sure it was an anxiety thing as well as digestion. More recently she has rarely vomited - by my unholy records, the last times were Oct. 14 and 29, and before that she just looked queasy in mid-September. I am quite sure prednisolone starts wearing off after 24 hours though so 36+ hours I bet the pred is doing very little. Maybe her new food doesn't cause her to puke and she can go off it altogether!
