11/13 WENDY = PMPS 324/ +2@341/ +3@314/ Dose Increase

Wendy did well overnight and did not pee in random places. She used the litter all night long, but I did sleep on the couch until 3am to keep an eye on her. It seems as though she only does it when left by herself and when we are asleep.

She ate throughout the night and did not vomit at all. This morning after AM shot, she ate more than the usual (2 Fancy Feast pate cans) and is sitting by the window watching the birds. She has not done this in a very long time. Seems more alert than other days.:cat:

I increased her dose to 5.25 units for the AM shot. I will test at +2 and monitor closely throughout the day.

Is this a good increase for her and, if so, should it be help for a week?

It's a good increase. With SLGS, you hold the dose for a week unless her numbers drop below 90 in which case you reduce the dose by 0.25u.

Hi Eva

I thought you were doing TR? Perhaps I misunderstood but since Wendy is not eating any dry, TR would be the best choice for her. Under TR, you should be raising the dose 0.5u bid and not 0.25u because she’s so high and flat.

My suggestion is, if there is no reason to do SLGS, I would increase her dose in the morning by another 0.25u so she’s at 5.5u bid. We really need to get her out of these pinks.

I agree with Marje, I would go to 5.5 units. With cats who have been in higher numbers for a while and getting to higher doses, it's important to get them into better number ranges as soon as possible. Closer to normal numbers will help her feel better. Some people who ultimately want to follow SLGS will follow TR for a while, in order to get to those better numbers faster. Otherwise Wendy's body will get used to those higher numbers and it'll be harder to break through to better numbers.
