Hi does anyone feed the Tiki Cat after dark pates
Might want to change Tyler to this or weruva instead of FF Pate because the FF pate is higher in phosphorus
Read ght now he eats 2 or 3% carbs FF Pate and I see that some of the weruva ones are a little higher in carbs ,I just don't want to knock him out of remission with higher carbs
I want to be sure these are low carb and low phosphorus
I found this posted by a member
Can I go by what it says about the pates when it come to lc and low phosphorus on this chart
even though it says on an as feed basis
Thanks ladies

Hi Diane, these are "As Fed" %ages so they include the moisture in the food. You want to look at % on a Dry Matter Basis. Did the table have those as well?

Hi Diane, I had “done the math” (ie used a website calculator to do the conversion) on the after dark pate’s after getting a chart like above sent to me from the Tiki people, I believe 3 of the flavours were low (3) but one was more like 14%. I’ll need to dig to find my scribbles and I’ll report back later.

Hi Diane, here is a link passed around by @Suzanne & Darcy for CKD. Specifically starting on page 14 is the list for diabetics and the phos is moderate to low. The carbs are ME basis and the Phosphorus is listed in xxx/kcal and also DMB.

There looks like some Tiki After Dark is on the list.

Good luck :bighug:
Hi Angela I decided to go with the Weruva line ,I picked up some pates tonight
the reason I want to switch is because his phosphorus is getting a little high the FF Pates are very high in phosphorus so I figured I would switch before it gets/even higher . Thank you anyway I appreciate it :cat:

Well forget about tiki cat
They sent me the dry matter basis
I guess the phosphorus is low ?
Does that look right to you?
Got a reply from them pates are too high in carbs and that's all Tyler will eat are pates
Don't know what I'll try now

I can't see the embedded image. Could you please share again? Surprising, I thought pates are usually LC.

I cannot see it either. When I try to calculate with the formula in this post (the one by Monique & Spooky, down the page, to find the % of dry matter), it gives me 7% of carbs for the venison and beef pate, and less for the other ones.
Hi Cecile, I can't make it bigger ,darn here's a dumb question can you get your 2 fingers and try to enlarge it like that like spread them apart

Is this the chart they sent you @Diane Tyler's Mom ?

whoops never mind I see you posted it earlier. I must have used the wrong calculator because based on the values I got 3% for a couple of these pates. I’ll stop hijacking your posts! Lol I just want tiki to work for you!

I’m at the store looking for new options for Chewie and can’t figure out if we agreed that the carb percentages on this chart were reliable? Was going to try a variety pack that has venison and beef liver, beef and beef liver, and duck and chicken liver.

Man I just bought that variety pack & couldn't find the % for the venison & beef on dr. Lisa's food chart just the other two. Guess I will save that flavor for an MC for Panzer. The other 2 flavors are 0 % carbs.
