10.13.22 Chispa, AMPS 121

Hi everyone! Up early to get my COVID booster, which I’ve just been told I might not need. That would be nice. The last one knocked me out for a day. No time for that now!
Wishing all cats and peeps a happy, healthy day :bighug::cat::coffee:

I had a completely different reaction to the bivalent booster than the other boosters. The first (two) boosters knocked me on my rear. Maaaaybe the bivalent made me a little sleepy (but I operate on too little sleep anywho) but mostly it just gave me an itchy arm, which I didn’t experience with any of the others. FX for you!

Thank you both! Today's booster was going to be done at the office where I get allergy shots, but they ended up suggesting a test to see whether or not I actually needed the booster -- so that's what I did. Results in a week. The Dr. said I might have overreacted to the last booster because I had had covid a couple of months before, therefore the antibodies were already primed and jumped all over it. Good to know.

How many boosters have you had so far?

Btw, I think you can try a reduction to 3.5U. That way you'll know how she is doing on the dose before you leave for your work trip on Monday. Whether 3.5U is a safe vacation dose or whether she needs something lower.

@Bandit's Mom Thank you, Bhooma!!! You are so kind to be on top of my vacation dose situation (actually Chispa's situation, but I'll take the love ). Thank you for thinking of us. I'll try 3.5 tonight, which as you said will be easier for DBF to judge.

I've had two boosters (December, July) and covid (May). I don't remember why I got the second booster so soon after recovering -- I should have been able to coast for a few more months -- it might have had something to do with visiting my octagenarian parents, and/or maybe there was a new variant at the time? And the one that I went in for today, that was only because the allergist's office called and told me I had an appointment for it, which I do not remember making (am I losing it here? Possibly...). Luckily the doctor, a chatty immunologist, was in the mood to give a dissertation on the pros and cons of boosters. After that, I was only too happy to decline.
