For SLGS the reduction point is 90. Some caregivers work with a lower reduction point of 70 or 80. I know you said you can't get many mid-cycle tests, but preshots are not an indication of whether the dose is too much or too little.
It's possible a reduction to 0.25U might just work.

it's hard to surely distinguish 0.25 from 0.5S so went with less then 0.5. let's call it 0.5S. will maintain this lower does for a few days
