@Wendy&Neko,

long time no talk!!! I’ve been meaning to post but haven’t quite caught up!

George has been low since noon. Haven’t been able to check his numbers with relion today until this evening. He’s currently at 90 with relion. Here is a pic of today from Libre:

Still give him his normal dose or give 1/2 dose? I will give bigger update a little later. In urgent mode here as he was due 45 mins ago. THANK YOU!

Did you get another test/scan? I guess he has eaten? Can you accommodate the delay in your future shooting schedule if you shoot at +2?

Btw, why haven't you taken a reduction considering that he has fallen below 50 on multiple occasions? I do not have experience with dosing for acro/IAA kitties, but my limited understanding is that especially after cabergoline or SRT, cats can go down in dosing pretty quickly. @Wendy&Neko should be around at some point to advise on dosing.

Yes, we can slowly bring him back to preshot time. We are at +2.5 now.

I hadn’t thought about reducing since generally those libre sensor #s are lower than the relion. But maybe it is time to consider lowering the dose…

I am thinking I’ll give him a 1/2 dose tonight and then start him back at regular time tomorrow.

Yes, the Libre does read lower in normal numbers. Can you get a test on the ReliOn when you get limes on the Libre?

If you shoot now - even a token - you do not want to shoot before 11.5 hours from tonight's shot.

A half dose would be preferred to a full one if you shoot tonight, especially since he went below 40 today. Provided, as Bhooma said, you can afford to be later tomorrow. The reason for the half dose is to help drain the depot. If you don't shoot, a skip is fine. For any lurkers, this is a suggestion for George only, who has acromegaly and taking a treatment called cabergoline that can make sudden changes in the amount of insulin needed.

If you can, it would be great to retest when you see those below 50's on the Libre. We've seen some of the Libre's be a lot lower than what a BG meter shows. If this is cabergoline kicking in, I'd be inclined to take the reduction anyway. Which means tomorrow is 5.0 units.

Yes, if we catch the limes, we can get the readings. We’ll watch a little closer now after today. DH and I both work from home but we are often in meetings so need to make a point to check around nadir for limes.

Gave 1/2 dose at +2.5. So we’ll give him normal dose at +2. Assuming normal dose is appropriate. Thanks so much for all your help @Bandit's Mom !

Well, already gave the 1/2 dose. So will give full dose at +2 tomorrow. Will reduce it to 5U for AMPS. I have more to share. George got his echocardiogram today. His heart is enlarged (thickened walls, enlarged left ventricle, enlarged left and right atria). He has 3 leaky valves. Cardiologist wants to put him on plavix to avoid clotting, CHF, or sudden death. Problem is George may have blood in his urine so we need to stop the bleeding first. Not looking like SRT is going to be best option for him. But if Cabergoline is working… I hope it is, but not sure. See numbers since starting Cabergoline. Cardiologist said we’d have to weigh risks of tumor vs heart troubles. Not sure if the SRT clinic would even consider him anyway. But we are doing what we can for him. Last note: DH was not being consistent on time Cabergoline was given but has been for the past several days. He now gets when he gets his am insulin. So hoping the inconsistency was reason for not consistent BS readings.
