Hello! I just finished an 18hr glucose curve on Leo. I know he needs a dose change and has been on 2u for around 10 days. Coming here for guidance on the increase.

Since no one is around I would go ahead and give the 2.25 units nowThank you. I have 2.25 drawn up just waiting. I'm currently 16 minutes passed his shot time.
Okay I went ahead and gave him the 2.25 for now.Since no one is around I would go ahead and give the 2.25 units now
It's ok to be 15 minutes late with lantus so you can give the PMPS shot on his usual shot time
Ok Good. Can you add SLGS to your signature alsoOkay I went ahead and gave him the 2.25 for now.
An increase was the right thing to do. Good luck. If possible to feed less dry that would be good.
I am glad that you shot the new dose of 2.25. Hold this dose for 14 cycles (7 days) unless he drops below 90. Then you can reevaluate his numbers - particularly his nadir- to see if he is ready for another increase. Okay?
Have you read through the dosing methods sticky notes at the top of this forum?
Bhooma can help you with the spreadsheet. @Bandit's MomOkay! I will be switching meters tomorrow. How would I put that on my spreadsheet?
You are switching to a human meter? Most people put a horizontal line going across their spreadsheet and make it a different color and write “Switching to a Human Meter” or the name of the meter - something like that. Yep! I can't afford Alpha Trak lol! I have 3 strips left to use for today then the other one is ready to go.You are switching to a human meter? The human meter will read a little lower than the Alpha Trak.Yep! I can't afford Alpha Trak lol! I have 3 strips left to use for today then the other one is ready to go.
Understandable! I was given the AT by my vet (without the strips) and was able to find a 50 pack for about $37 so I went with it. Now I realize that it's not necessary to have one so I went and bought a human meter (Relion) and strips to switch over to. Thank goodness because wow they are pricey! Just using up the last 3 for today then will switch tomorrow. Most of us use human meters as the AT strips are expensive and our methods were formulated with a human meter.

Yep, got it! Fixed the spreadsheet too.Any additional tests that you do today just add them to your title and you can add the PMPS numbers also
You know how to do it right?
Great JobYep, got it! Fixed the spreadsheet too.

Great Job
Leo is a handsome boy, he looks like a big kitty looking at his paws or is it just the picture
Same thing with Tyler he used to weigh 23 lbs then when I brought him to my vet he was down to 18 lbsHe's about 15 lbs now, down from almost 25! His quick weight loss was what made me think something was wrong along with the insane amount of urine and going outside of the litter box. I think he does look larger though because his paw is closer to the camera.
Where are you shooting now? I could only shoot shoulder/scruff area without an argument from Neko.
In future, especially when he's still in higher numbers, try not to hold doses longer than 7 days. If you can get plenty of tests in per day (at 2 per cycle), we might be able to help you determine if that's as good as the curve to increase after 7 days.
