Other than the moment I got home from the farm and Fluffy nibble on hi-carb dry, I've been very careful to separate him from the community bowl when it is down for the other cats and pick it up again.

Due to the ridiculously Hi-Cost of Dr. Elsey's Dry Kibble I can only afford to use it as a topper giving about 1 - 2 tbsp. I notice that his BG's are higher when he consumes this product. It's supposed to be low carb, a clean protein. On the farm he didn't get this dry kibble because I accidentally forgot it.

It seems his numbers are once again all over the place!!

While Dr. Elsey's (and Young Again Zero and Wysong Epigen 90) are all low carb kibbles, some cats still react to them like they were higher carb.

Try taking the Dr. Elsey's completely out of the picture for Fluffy and see if it brings his numbers back down. If it does, you know that for some reason, his body just can't handle it.

If you bought it from Chewy, you can call them and they'll usually credit you the amount you paid and tell you to donate it to a shelter or rescue.

I can tell you for a fact that his numbers were lower the 12 days I was farm sitting for my daughter while on vacation. I forgot this Dr Elseys dry kibble at home and too far to drive home to get and too expensive to re-buy. His numbers were so low that they went to 58 on night.

I'll have to contact them to get refund but Fluffy really likes something to crunch on it seems. I made some raw food, perhaps that will satisify him for snacks.

There you go! Can't get much better proof than that!

You can get freeze dried treats if he wants a little "crunch" in his life. Pure Bites are a favorite here and lots of people use them for "testing treats" to reward their kitty for letting them test. As long as the only ingredient is a protein source, it's fine. (it's cheaper to buy the dog treats and just break them into smaller pieces if you need to) They're the exact same thing just in a bigger bag and end up being cheaper per ounce than the cat specific treats).

Where do you buy Pure Bites??

Vital Essentials makes a treat that is 100% protein and at least the ahi tuna is exactly like dry. My cats have never been fed dry and one won’t eat these treats I guess because she doesn’t consider it food. The other can’t get enough. She only gets a few once in awhile.
