8/7 Emma AMPS 151

151 is the same as 160 with meter variance. With SLGS you can shoot any number over 90 if you can monitor.
Will you be able to get some tests if you shoot? have enough test supplies and higher carb food?

Thank you. Yes, I can test at +2 and +4 today. I've been withholding food, which Emma hates, but I'm about to test again. Will update.

148. I don't think she's crashing, but I think I'll play it safe and give her a half dose - maybe just under 1.00 instead of 1.75. Does that seem like a good idea, or am I being a bit conservative?

She is flat. If you can test, I would suggest giving the full dose. Over time, you want to be able to shoot lower and lower till you are comfortable shooting any number over 90.

Feed a little at +1 and again after the +2 :)
Okay, will do! Right now I'm in the middle of transitioning to wet food from hydrolyzed protein dry food. So I gave some dry food after the second test while waiting to see whether I should shoot a partial or full dose, and gave wet food with the insulin shot. I've reserved some dry food which I normally give at +2, but I'll split that up into +1 and +2.

It's great that you are transitioning her to wet food. Are there set times that you feed dry and wet? And is the wet food low carb?
Could you please add "transitioning to low carb wet food" in your Signature? A food change from high carb dry to low carb wet can make a big difference to her BG and insulin needs.

I'm trying out different wet foods at the moment. Because she has IBD, I didn't think she would be able to handle the FF chicken, but we did it for 3-4 days with no problem. Now we are trying out different food (rabbit, a novel protein) that unfortunately is not on the food list, but I'm waiting to hear from manufacturer about the carb %.
