So, Kitty's dose was reduced 10 days ago. I've given up on getting green preshot numbers for 14 cycles in a row, it just seems like it wont happen with her, she always gets random blues with no rhyme or reason about them. I don't know if its just the meter or what it is, but it just seems like others are able to get consistent greens for 14 cycles which meets the criteria for a reduction, but I went ahead and made the reduction based on advice from @tiffmaxee

My question is, should I go ahead and reduce again?

Also, I think I'm going to start her on Zobaline tomorrow. I purchased it a while ago but was nervous to give it to her.

I can try Elise for you again
@tiffmaxee

Does Kitty have neuropathy , nothing to be afraid about starting the Zobaline.
Just crush it up good and add it to her wet food with water ,mix it up good, it's tasteless.
I used to use it but it's so expensive , a member turned me on to this ,works the same way, many members have used this instead and it's so much cheaper .
It's a capsule just open it and sprinkle it on her food
Vitacost. 14.49 for 100 capsules
Just sprinkle it on the wet food always add water to the wet food
One per day

I'm not sure if she has neuropathy but there are some signs. She has difficulty jumping on to higher surfaces like the bed. She can still make the jump but it seems like its more difficult for her than it is for my other cat who does it with ease, and he is only one year younger than her. She also does this thing where she will get up to walk but not go very far and then she lays back down and does a big stretch of her hind legs. I notice her stretching her hind legs quite often, so I'm not sure if maybe she is experiencing numbness. I really don't know if she has neuropathy, but its just vitamin b so I guess it can't hurt.

Why do I need to add water? How much? Can it be just a small amount, like maybe a teaspoon? I can't increase the volume of her meal very much otherwise she has scarf and barf.

I considered Vitacost but I wanted to start out at the low end of the dosing (3mg - 5mg) and the Vitacost is 5mg.

It sounds like neuropathy does she walk flat footed like with her back feet like a rabbit does
You should always add water to her wet food we all do , a teaspoon is fine
The 5000 mcgs is fine they pee out what they don't need it's water soluable
Just thought I'd try to save you money :cat:

Thank you, I still may get Vitacost if I think the Zobaline helps, but I've already got Zobaline on hand so I will see how that goes.

She doesn't really walk flat footed as far as I have observed which makes me wonder if she actually has neuropathy or not. Although, the day she was diagnosed with FD, in the vets office the vet commented that she was walking flat footed, but to me that just seemed like she was crouching down low to the floor while she was exploring the exam room because it was a new place and she was scared/nervous.

Also, not sure if its relevant, but before she was diagnosed she used to have this clicking/knocking noise when she walked, sounded like it was coming from a hip. Since her BG has been regulated that noise has gone away.
