Continuing on yesterday's conversation, have you ever tried a +1.5 or +2 snack for a while? You need carbs in his tummy before he onsets.

I will certainly give that a try!! A +1.5 or +2 carb load would then be in addition to the meal he gets at AMPS or PMPS just prior to his shot. But maybe that's just how he rolls...Thanks, Wendy.

In other news: Blue has dental appointment at West Coast Dental September 7th. One step at a time...

In addition to his preshot meal. Or you can save a bit of his PS meal for then.

Which dental vet are you seeing there? Dr. Legendre was Neko's - nice guy. And he knows about acros. Out of curiosity, which clinic does the stem cell work did you find? The first vet in Canada to use stem cells is at the clinic I go to, but she uses it mostly for joint work. Use in cat kidneys is still more at the research phase. There were lots of studies of it going on at CSU when were last there. On Tanya's page, it seem to be described as experimental and not stellar results.

What I usually do is give preshot meal and then when I test @ +2.5 or +3 give a snack. Tonight I'll try the snack at +1 or +1.5 and then see what happens...

I'm not sure which vet it is. I spoke with someone today who is setting up appointments. And, because acromegaly and Blue, i'm also going to be meeting with the anesthesiologist pre-procedure.

I did a Google search and also found VetStem, which I contacted through a form requesting info on a service provider. They wrote back saying:

"Below is a credentialed and experienced stem cell provider who can consult with our clinical development director on your cat’s case to provide a tailored treatment protocol should you decide you want to pursue stem cell therapy."

Can you believe it? Kamloops. About 1.5 -2.0 hours away. I'm so used to driving all over the place Pullman, WA, Calgary, AB, Victoria, BC and it's Kamloops. I believe it is also done at VCA Calgary but I've not heard back from them, yet. I emailed and also called and left a message.

I read through all the content on Tanya's page and went further afield to search for regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy. I've found mentioned almost everywhere that it can be considered beneficial in CKD and some studies have shown it really does work. I'll keep tracking it all down. The vet at Riverside is away until July 25th and I've contacted them to request a consultation.

What clinic do you go to, Wendy? Perhaps I can also contact the vet you mention...

If anything, I'm tenacious.

Sorry, you won't get in. She doesn't take new clients. She also does alternative therapies, acupuncture, chiro, chinese medicine so is very popular. I see the other vet there.

Ok, maybe I won't get in but could you share the name?

Just gave snack @ +1.25 so we'll see how that goes.
