I have been a member but never posted.
My cat was diagnosed in December 2020 and started on 2U. I don't know her initial numbers bcoz the vet did them and started her on 2U lantus. She is now on 6U but it is not under control. It was getting better on Fancy Feast Pate buy I'm in Australia and cannot guarantee a regular supply of it. When I couldn't get it I tried many different foods but she's VERY fussy and will refuse to eat every meal meaning I leave it out hoping she'll graze. The dry food she ate twice a day without fail us now back in production with a guaranteed supply so she's eating but her numbers are in the 20s. I can NOT establish any regular eating except on the dry (Purina) or the wet FF pate. All other foods including home made are rejected and eaten sporadically resulting in curves that are nonsensical. I don't know what to do! I'm in a rural area and fuel costs are also an issue- i need to be able to buy 2 weeks food at a time minimum. Delivery is NEVER free bcoz I'm not in a metropolitan area. And I need the beef abd poultry FF as both cats vomit the salmon and I can't afford to throw 4 cans from every box away. I don't know what to do as vet bills are going up and she's going down. I birthed her and resuscitated her with my daughter so she's special but I'm out of ideas.

Hi Deborah and welcome to you and your kitty to the forum.
I live in Australia so hopefully I can help you with food. I know that many of the FF canned foods have been absent from the shelves over the past 6 months or so. I feed a raw diet so don’t look at the canned food a lot in the supermarket.
What is the dry food you are feeding at the moment …..dry food here in Australia is high carb so not ideal.
About the lowest would be the Hills Glucosupport MD which is 18% carbs, so high carb.

I will give you a link to some Aussie information……some of the food information is not up to date.we no longer have Weruva here in Australia unfortunately. See if there are any other cans of food that might be suitable for your kitty.

AUSSIE INFORMATION

Are you home testing the blood glucose.?
I am going to give you a link to HELP US HELP YOU you will find the links to our spreadsheet and the signature.
If you could set those up and add some data we can help you a lot more. If you have any trouble setting up the SS I will get @Bandit's Mom to help you.
I’m sure we can help you. 6 units is a lot of insulin but if you are feeding dry food I’m not surprised.

Hey Deborah, nice to see you from the FB group!
I know the struggles with finding food in Aust, I'm going through the same thing but without the extra hurdle of being rural. I think you got a lot of good suggestions on the FB page for food, hopefully you can find some locally.
I know my local Coles hasn't got great options but they have FF Chunky Chicken and it is a low carb one. And the texture is pretty much the same as the Pates.

There is a few options in the link Bron put up above so hopefully you can find something. I've been feeding Arthur Tiki Cat (the chicken, and chicken/egg ones) and he's a fan of those. They are from Petbarn. The 30pk of Dine from Petbarn hasn't got an salmon ones in it, its beef, chicken and a turkey/giblet one.
