Fluffy ate 1/2 can Friskies for breakfast at 8 am. I had to leave for church at 8:15 am and idk what to do about his shot. I posted to the forum but it was too soon for any expected responses. So we skipped his AMPS shot since his numbers were still in the 300"s. Just got home and checked his BG @ 349, so I think we are good, I hope. I understand it is better to be late with a shot than to be early and It was recommended to me to switch his shot times to 8:45 am so that on Sundays his shot will only be 30 mins early and on Wed his PMPS shot will be 15-60 mins late.

Okay I can switch his shot times till 8:45 and then he'll just be late on Wednesdays anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour so with that in mind how do I treat his p.m. shot tonight? Since he didn't get a morning shot and in switching to 8:45 for his shot time, do I just go with 8:45 pm then for tonight?

Yes. You can shoot tonight at his new shot time of 8:45 Eastern.

What is "Bump?"
Sorry. It was just a temporary thing to bump this post up above the older post. I just deleted that after I read through your message. So go with the 8:45 shot time.

The cycle count will reset. That means that tonight will count as cycle one. The dose should be held unless Fluffy’s BG drops below 90 (not likely to happen.). Then we reevaluate. Right now, it looks like Fluffy will beed an increase, but it’s 14 cycles away from that decision. Fluffy’s depot will have been depleted a bit by the skipped shot this morning. It was just starting to fill. Sorry for the mix up, but I feel sure that Fluffy will do better on Lantus. Depot insulins give much more gentle and flatter cycles in general. Hang in there.

I must leave the house now for about two hours. Be back at about 7:30 and I will check in before Fluffy’s next shot time at 8:45 although I don’t think you will need help.

Is it safe to interpret Cycles as occurring 2 tines a day? Therefore 14 Cycles would be the equivalent of 7 days before a decision is made on increase or decrease?

I am feeling better about Lantus since so far as made his numbers more steady instead of all over the place like before.

I’m glad you are feeling better about it. And yes. A cycle is one 12 hour period. So there are two cycles per day. So 14 cycles would be seven days. These are all good good questions! I’m happy to explain anything that I can.

Fluff ate his normal half can Friskies and 1 tbsp Dr Elsey Chicken kibble as a topper. *NEW+ shot time is 8:45 pm. At 3:30 pm he had a mid-cycle snack of homemade chicken raw food (1.5 oz) He licked the others' bowls clean. Recipe from catinfo.org.

This is all good. I see he had a pink preshot tonight and that is to be expected. At least so far he has flattened out in the pinks with no red or black preshot numbers. That’s progress. Try to get that before bed test tonight to make sire all is well. I am not expecting any problems.

I concur. I'm not expecting anything short of progress! I will get a +2 PMPS reading then off to bed...morning comes early for work.
