Henry took a big fat revenge on the Libre today and the Libre died after 5 days. Rest in peace Libre. Could not get a vet appointment until next Tuesday for a replacement. Pretty stressed given that his nadirs at night tend to run very late between 1 and 2 am. It will be a nice break for Henry with no Libre though. Little guy does deserve a break or two. Thankfully the weekend is coming and having the next week off for the 4th of July so I can monitor closely.

Did it come loose? Or did it just stop working?

Have you ever tried putting it on yourself? I did Cinna's last one and it wasn't too bad, the hardest part was shaving the fur, but that was because I didn't have a proper pet fur clipper lol.

Hacking the libre was very satisfying - this is his "I won" pose. LOL

Henry licked at it until he won the fight against the libre. He hated this one big time. The vet put it again too close to the spine. I am tired having to tell them what to do or not do.

I thought about trying it myself but Henry is not the type to just sit still for me. I would need another person for the shaving and he does not just sleep and let people do whatever they want while he sleeps. He is very feisty. His skin is also now red because of the prior libre and this libre. He does need a break. Not to mention I called in to get Libre refills and did not get them yet. Will just have to make the best of it meanwhile.

I was wondering, do they always have to be installed by a vet? I know humans place their own. I wonder how difficult it is. $30 device and a $200 appointment to get it placed. Luckily my Henry hasn't paid any attention to his libre at all.

My vet charges me nothing to place the libre strange enough. The other vet charged me 400 for the sensor, the reader and "interpreting the results". The sensor was not placed right and died in 2 hrs. They refunded me without me asking which was decent. Yes you can try to place them yourself there is a facebook page for libre for cats and dogs with videos and tips on how to do it. From the videos and what people say the hardest is shaving the cat. Placing the sensor if the pet is sleeping can be easier depending on the cat. It tends to be a two people job. i will check that facebook page for you.
