Helloooooo to my lovely team!!!! Hope you and your kitties are all fine !!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's been a month I haven't posted. Chnoudi is stuck on 1.75 and seems ok with nice greens during most of the days! However ,the heat has dissolved her, she is sleepy all day, there are really high temperatures here, in Athens :cool:o_O

She has much improved pre-shot numbers, but the last days her nadirs are quite higher (mainly in the 80s or 90s) and she often has some inactive cycles - like today -

I wanted to ask if you find it necessary to increase to 2u .

Thank you in advance!!!!:):):):) Many kisseesss!!!

I think you have room to increase. Your goal, since she's out of remission, is to try to get her tightly regulated as quickly as you can, in order to try for a second remission.

Okk I'll increase tomorrow!.. As the months go by, my hopes fade, but I keep trying hard for this
At least, we are all following this dream.. :)

Thank you very much Wendy ❤️

Good luck with the increase!

we are now partners in sorrow, Chico went out of remission as well a couple of weeks ago. On Thursday we have a dental appointment and take it from there… did all Chnoudi’s tests came normal?

Oohhh , I'm so sorry I hear this, Marina! :(:( Ughhh what a pity! And as I see, Chico stayed in remission for 10 months, exactly like Chnoudi!

Yes, all her tests came normal, except from the ALT that shows problem in the liver, which was a bit higher. (Back in November she had anorexia and diarrhea for 2 days and after that she was out of remission..) I was suspecting IBD or pancreatitis but the vet, on the contrary, wasn't concerned at all... I don't know what happened. Apart from diabetes, Chnoudi is fine since then..!
You can see her bloodwork in the Labs section in her SS.

The dental clean didn't help lower her numbers, but I hope it helps Chico!!!! it will be an easy fix if this is the cause for his relapse.

Sending you positive vibes and hugs, we keep in touch, I'm waiting for your news!!:):):bighug::bighug:

I recommend a cooling gel mat for pets. The gel inside has a cooling effect. I see you have zooplus in Greece they have some options. I don't know any of the brands but any cooling mat with gel should work. Summers in Europe tend to be very hot indeed :cat:

How do you convince a cat to go on the gel mat? During the heat dome last year, silly cat here preferred sleeping on her heat reflective pad instead of downstairs where it was cool. :banghead:

I have a cooling mat on my bed so Henry can sleep next to me in the summer . I take him and put him on it and he loves it. Most of the time. have another one in the living room that he sometimes likes to sleep on. It took him a while to figure out the purpose of that mat haha. He does a great job on working on his beauty sleep lol

Yeah, we don’t have our hopes very high with the dental as well, his teeth really don’t look bad nor his mouth doesn’t smell bad but we have to give it a try.

liver is the suspect for Chico as well, unfortunately we have reasons to believe the last test results aren’t trustworthy so its hard to base it on some numbers… but based on the recommendation of our new vet we will try to give a supplement to help regeneration of the liver. We are thinking maybe the liver was affected by the supplements we were giving long term for his GI issues so we stopped those, did you maybe give some long term supplements as well?

i'm sorry, I just saw your reply, i didn't have a notification at all! :bighug:

Hmmm I see.. yes, maybe liver is the cause... !
Back in 2020 with Chnoudi's first diagnosis (she had again bad transaminase numbers) she got the "Hepatiale Forte" capsules. I gave her this supplement for a month or more..
Then remission came and everything looked perfect.

Now, our new vet told me to give her the same again, and I bought a box, but - to tell the truth- I didn't gave her many ... Maybe , I should start again.

Thank you so much Roxana!!! :bighug::bighug: Yes I have one , but its from a local market and I don't think it s very effective. It's perfect when you take it off the fridge but it stays cool only for half an hour or less... I think i have to buy from zooplus or another pet store. :bookworm::bookworm:
@Wendy&Neko hahaa this is so funny, it's exactly what my other cat does! Fortunately, Chnoudi is smarter and always looking for cool places to lie down:cat:
