Still not sure how I’m feeling…I keep thinking about doing this all over again tomorrow morning and tomorrow night. Etc… I don’t know when I will feel at ease not to test every half hour. And not to feed him frequently. At least we haven’t needed the honey yet.

Yes. No honey is a good sign.
It will get easier i promise. It will all become second nature, when to feed, what to feed. You will just look at his numbers and automatically know what to do and if not as you know help is always at hand on here.

Yes. If he is still flat or rising that would mean he is stable or rising after two hours with no food. That means he’s safe.

Yep. Test in two minutes. He’s had a lovely flat cycle and we’re just still here so that Jill will feel really comfortable about going to bed! This test will hopefully help her to relax!
When a cat is over 100, you are fine going an hour between tests, even longer if he's rising. Once you learn Merlin's patterns on Lantus, you will be able to be more strategic about testing. It's early days yet, so all data is good data right now. It'll take a while to figure out how Merlin reacts to Lantus, though initial data shows he likes early drops which will mean more testing early on the cycle. TBD if that pattern stays true.
Should I feed him a good meal before I go to bed? It’s still 7 hours before next shot.

Even though there are many hours left, he will not drop. He is on the rise.
You can feed him some of the same food he’s been eating if it makes you feel more comfortable. I understand.
