Shortage of FF made me buy the Seafood ones…bad timing to try swap him again…Am now unsure if its the cause of reds or bouncing…

thoughts anyone ?!

…..Vet says to stick to 1.5u Am
 
Skipped the 6am spoon as Didnt get up on time…
He’s now Sky high with a scary number to start the day but very hungry & seems ok which is odd as he’s usually not like that around the 30s’
If only I knew what Am doing wrong
 
Hang in there. You aren't doing anything wrong. You're doing everything right. It's just the frustrating marathon in which you are engaged. You will see better days ahead.
 
Thanks lots that already means more than you can think as many don’t get it yesterday a friend said I should put him & myself out of misery which is also what my family thinks…and it hurt me anyways we’re starting at 26.4 high again but am less stressed when it doesn’t pass the 30 mark so touch wood he’ll go down…
 
That’s not a great friend- to say such a thing. There are just some people that you should not share certain things with- and family too. Well you are among friends here and we do understand. We know how much your Shai means to you. You are going to get Shai regulated. You are in the best possible place to have a chance of doing that.
 
Thank you I know she loves animals & cares a lot about her dog which made me think she didn’t totally mean wrong thoughts but it rather slipped out…as much as I don’t share I have to say I can’t come or I look like hell sorry didn’t sleep well…& as they know me they know it’s « cat » related you know it’s hard not to put 1+ 1 at times
 
Am worried cause when he is high I noticed (last night for the 3rd time) he get a cough which ends with a hiss at the end…made me recall his son cough & am not sure if it’s once again heart related or diabetis or else thoughts ?! Am thinking of taking him to the vet but if he only does it once briefly & can’t vidéo it they’ll look at me funny for sure

So it sounds like he is wheezing. I would try to video it. If he only does it when he’s high though??? That’s perplexing.

He’s still high at +3 had his +1 & +2 spoon but is crying for food which he never does so I gave him another spoon but he wants more ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️
 
He’s crying for more like never I have to go out & not sure what to do …will give him another spoon

You can feed him right up to his typical nadir time. Feeding after that “may” shorten the duration of his insulin- although I never saw this on Levemir which I finally ended up on with my cat after using all the other insulins. But, just let the boy eat if he’s hungry. Just don’t feed for two hours before the PMPS test - so you will know what his number is without the influence of food.

Thanks lots !!! Had to leave him but am hoping the 12.30pm spoon finally filled him up though really not sure why he was so hungry should I stick up 1.5 ?!
 
I would like to say to increase to 1.75 units. It has been ten cycles since your last blue numbers (and that one green on 4/23), so it looks like it is safe to increase. Which dosing method are you following: start low, go slow, or tight regulation? Have you read through those two dosing protocols? Since you did have a green number on 4/23, I would be cautious and increase by .25 unit to a new dose of 1.75. Just keep monitoring (you do a great job of that). I am looking at the spreadsheet and don't see any numbers for tonight (well, it's your tonight and my morning now... but this advice to increase is of course assuming that he won't / didn't go low the night of April 28. Is this making sense. You won't have to keep him at the new dose for a long time if he's still having very high nadirs like he has for the last several days (yellow nadirs). He does seem to bounce a little bit from those yellows and ends up going red or black :-( Or that could just be his Lantus "smile curve" that I am seeing because he will dip back down into the yellow. These are just my thoughts. You are holding the syringe :-)
 
Thanks lots not sure why you don’t see numbers I update them well he went low last night & is now high as a kite again so as you said as long as he didn’t get low am assuming I stick to my 1.5u hope I understand you well

Let me look again. I didn’t see them this morning. Maybe it’s the time difference?
 
This morning when I checked I think it was before you entered the blue 128 number (7.1 your number). I think you should hold a little while longer, yes.
 
He may have even dropped lower than that and gone green or just had a nice string of blue and, hence the black this morning :-(

If you want to start a new thread, go to the address bar for this thread and copy it (you know, right click and copy) then start your new thread with a new date, AMPS/PMPS, etc. and when you start to type the new day’s info, paste in the link for the previous day’s post into the body of your new post.
