I guess he bounced between +11 and AMPS??? He didn’t have any food or anything. I kept him on 7 units because I didn’t think I was supposed to go back and forth between 7 and 7.5 right? I need to get myself feeling better so I have no choice right now. Also it was a little upsetting but somehow when I was injecting his dose this morning, he bled. I have never done that to him before!!! I don’t know if my technique wasn’t exactly right this morning or what but that completely freaked me out because I thought I may have hit a vessel? Maybe it went intramuscular somehow? I don’t know what I did wrong. He didn’t act like it hurt him though. I’ve had people to bleed with IM injections before so I’m wondering if that’s what happened to Max. I don’t know but that upset me :( Has that happened to anyone else before???

I had blood once. Don’t worry. The worst that could happen is the insulin might onset sooner. In my case it was a normal cycle.

Okay thanks Elise. That was quite shocking at first. He isn’t coming down much anyway. Either a bounce or not enough insulin or maybe both. I wanted to give him 7.5 this morning but at night I want to give 7 just to be a little safer since I need my rest right now. I wasn’t sure if that should be done though. Have a good Sunday.:)

You can get what is called a blood shot if you accidentally hit a capillary. It's nothing to worry about. It just bleeds a little. I hope you can rest today. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Carla. That’s probably what happened. I’ve just never done that before. Have a happy Sunday!:)

You need to take care of yourself or you will not be able to take care of Max.

I think I nicked a capillary a couple times in 5 years. Cat's don't seem to notice it, or way less than the humans do.

Let's see what he does on this dose once the depot stabilizes. And see if you are better by then too. You can always try 7.25 units later if 7.0 isn't quite what you want.

Thank you Wendy.

I will add to the others, I, have also done this :oops::oops: You know what's worse? Nicking the capillary in the ear, that really spurts blood, plus it really hurt my poor Tiger. :blackeye: The kitchen floor looked like a CSI Crime Scene and I never felt so horrible in all my life as I was sure no one else had ever done such a dumb and clumsy thing to their kitty:(:(:( And in regard to your nice comment yesterday, back then I was on the blessed receiving end of so much compassion here, so now I try my best to give back to the community if I can. Because everybody here was there for me, just as we are all with you now. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: I'm glad to see Max is remaining steady for you and hopefully you can get more rest!

Oh yes. I agree with you 100 percent. The encouragement and everything that I have learned (and still learning) is worth more than anything I can say. I am so blessed to be here.
