VICTOR AMPS 18.1/326.....

One thing to think about when trying to get him to eat wet food (later on) is to use Forti-Flora as a food topper. It's marketed as a probiotic, but it's really not great for that as it only has one strain of beneficial bacteria. What Forti-Flora is good for is getting cats to eat. Most cats absolutely go crazy for the taste of Forti-Flora.
Hi! Yes I have Forti-Flora-- and if I put it on the food they won't touch it- tried this with my EPI girl Seascape- I ended up having to mix it in water and syringe it! I am telling you BENGALS are the most finicky cats ever!

There's not a whole lot of data there in his labs. It was a limited panel. Are you sure of that phosphorus number. That 1.32 is extremely low. Can you verify that number? And did they not check BUN. I don't see how there can be a BUN/Creatinine ration without a BUN. Also check that creatinine number.

I'll check in later on. Right now my cat Ginger is jumping up on me and now sitting in front of me giving me that look! She says I'd better get off the computer and feed her!
I copy and pasted it- I think again our numbers in Canada are different from what you are use to looking at?

Yes, the numbers are in a different format, but that won't make a difference once I get the reference ranges for your vet's labs. Let me look at your photo. Thanks!

Most of those labs are not bad (well, except the glucose, which you know). Diabetes can affect all those labs and throw them off. Without further tests to go along with these (like a CBC) it's hard to interpret anything like the high bilirubin and low amylase. A lot of that can be due to diabetes and weight loss. So, I don't think you need to worry about those labs. I wish they had done a CBC though so you could see what the hematology revealed. I would have expected his eosinophils at the least (and possibly other white cells) to be elevated due to the yeast infection. But anyway, not to worry about the values that you posted at this point.

We intended to do a CBC- but here's another thing about Bengal cats- they do NOT like to give blood and we just got the bare minimum to do the 17 panel- they tried for another .1 ml for the CBC and he was NOT giving it so unfortunatley no CBC :( All my bengals are like this- it is really hard to get signficant blood for a test.....

Have you ever read Dr. Lisa Pierson's tips for transitioning kibble addicts to dry food? Now you can tell me that you have! Oh well, I'm going to attach the link here anyway. I did not know this about Bengal cats!

Yes I've read it a few times over.....trying to think of ways to incorporate it.....Will Dr LIsa take cats in for boot camp to do this because I'm telling you I will bet big money this will not work for my bengals!

And are they're taking the blood out of the jugular vein? Wow.

Yes- out of jugular- and they've tried a leg vein to get more and nothing.....you should see me trying to get an ear prick- it's literally like milking a cow- I was told the Contour EZ needed the least amount for testing so that's what we are using- but I've wasted so many strips!

It’s great that you can get Dr. Elsey’s! Young Again can only be purchased directly from the company. They will send a free sample though.
