A REMINDER ON FUNDRAISING....Please Bump

It’s unfortunate we have to keep reminding members, and this seems to especially happen within LBL, but the Webmaster determined long ago fundraising would not be allowed on the board. This includes but is not limited to:
  • actively fundraising such as a GoFundMe
  • linking to any fundraising
  • asking members to vote for a cute cat contest where money is the prize
  • asking for financial assistance of any kind in a condo
  • PMing members and asking for financial assistance
Please respect the Webmaster’s wishes and do not try to find loopholes around this that involve FDMB in any way.

I was wondering the other night if the board was nonprofit. If it's a nonprofit...how difficult would it be to get added to something like AmazonSmile? Goodness knows I spend enough on Amazon I'll probably keep the board afloat myself ....

I believe there used to be a link to Amazon (Amazon Smile program) under the “Shopping” and “Support this site /Shopping Partners” menus of the felinediabetes.com home page. It doesn’t look like the link still works … and the web page says it was last updated in 2012. But way back when, I do recall that the Amazon Smile link was functional. I have vague memories of maybe seeing occasional notes of how much $$ it brought in for FDMB. Might be worth pursuing again, especially with Amazon being the behemoth it now is and pretty much everyone on the planet now using it.

Yes, I searched for it today on AmazonSmile and it didn't show up (though some other...loose affiliates...did). Worth a look in my opinion!
 
I had asked our webmaster about using Amazon Smile to help keep the lights on a few years ago. Robert thought it was a good idea but I don't know what happened. Like those of you, I use Amazon a lot and I'm currently supporting DCIN. I'd be very happy to switch to supporting FDMB .

this is truly a brilliant idea and I hope Amazon isn't too big now for the FDMB. I currently donate to "water" but would change it to the FDMB immediately if it was available. And would get all my family and friends to do the same.

for now though another paypal donation sounds like a good idea think I'll do it right now
