I just noticed that my Lantus has started to look cloudy and I’m worried about not being able to get a refil until Monday.
I just shot her but not quite sure what to do?

Yes. They say not to use it if it’s cloudy. I think it just may not work as well.

all of the instructions say if it looks cloudy or if you see particles to throw it away. This is not good.

Definitively no particles.
Do you think it’s ok to give until I get a new one? It’s not super cloudy but it’s not as clear as it’s been ( or supposed to be). It seems to be working to an extent but I do wonder if it’s lost some of its effectiveness and is the reason she’s been so high. Altho, her spike in numbers happened really really quickly.

Ok, thank you. I’ll keep giving it to her until I can get a refill. I just don’t want to hurt her by giving it if it’s bad…

Hope she will come back down. And you can get fresh insulin on Monday. How long have you had the pen? Do you recall?

I hope my vet calls in a refill by then.
I’ve had it since October.

I’ve read here that a lot of people use it to the last drop which is what I would have done as long as it stayed clear. But, better safe than sorry.

I think I will wait for a fresh pen to increase her dose to .75
