OTJ trial question

Hey guys, Mo and me again,

Mo has been doing well with the .1 dose so the past 2 days we started an OTJ trial.

I want suggestions or thoughts on his numbers? Do I continue the trial for a few days or jump back on the .1 dose??

We just got an automatic bowl to give him a snack around + 8. It was eaten today but I don't know if it was the other cat as I didn't get to check the camera at that time due to my kiddos (teacher) having a rough day.

I am trying my best and just want him to be successful with his remission. We did go to the vet the other day and she was impressed. She also thought he was ready for remission but also said 200 was appropriate for remission which I know isn't true.

Help help please!!!

Thanks guys! We appreciate you!

Hi Cait have you read the 2 dosing methods for lantus, you will need to choose one to follow as these will tell you when you need to increase or decrease ,etc
Note if you are feeding any kibble at all you will need to follow SLGS.
I tagged some members for you below

Elise or Wendy are better to answer this question, but I would not have stopped the 0.1U. Too many blues. He was flirting with the 50s, but I believe in these cases it's better to feed a little more carbs to keep him afloat, so you can continue to give the dose until the other numbers come down.

The Libre also tends to read artificially low at lower numbers, have you cross checked any of the lower numbers with a handheld meter?

I would not have stopped insulin yet eithet You want to see mostly bg of 50-80 for a week. After that if still seeing bg over 100 you try a drop dose. The bg appears to be going higher tonight. You could give it another day or two to see if it continues to go up but don’t wait too long to go back to .10.

I suspect if you stick to the LC pate and not use the LC kibble you may see all green. I have heard a couple of people say Young Again caused their cat to fall out of remission. Just a thought.

I wish I could pull it away, but he is challenging. He doesn't always eat enough PATE which makes me worry that he isn't getting enough to eat. His kibble is in the tiniest amount. I do not want him to starve as he is very scheduled oriented with eating and does not like eating PATE during the day. It is my biggest challenge.

You have answered your own question. Keep the feeding as is. Is he underweight?
