2/25 Max AMPS 402 +4 233 +5 158 +6 112 +7 71

Feeding small amounts of LC all morning until we hit 71, then I gave LC with 2 drops of honey. I don't have any MC that Max can tolerate so I have to use honey. I was trying to prevent dives and bounces. He may bounce anyway since we hit green. I kind of thought this might happen. Glad I held the dose one more day.

Nice to see he's down to greens already. Max responded nicely to the dose increase threat. :D
I am confused about cats having to have SRT more than once and even cats like Eddie who had the hypophysectomy and then also SRT twice.
Replying here instead of yesterday's post. Neko is amongst a group of a handful cats that I know of that had SRT twice, some of those in literature, some in discussion with researchers at CSU and NCSU. It's not common compared to the numbers of cats who have had SRT. Neko's second SRT was over 3 years after the first one, when it was evident her tumour was raging up again. Note that at the time, the average life span of a cat after SRT was sometime between 2-3 years, we'd already beaten that. SRT neuters the tumour cells so they do not reproduce and eventually die off. But that isn't to say new ones don't grow or that the radiation might miss some of the original ones.

Eddie's hypophysectomy operation had some issues and not all the pituitary was taken. Same with his brother Blue, who also had SRT following. Both just had one SRT, Blue went OTJ quickly. Eddy is taking the more traditional route and time. Only about 30% of SRT kitties go OTJ. Note that there have been other cases of cats (some at WSU, some elsewhere) where hypophysectomy did not succeed long term. Amanda's Schmee being one of them. About 30% of hypophysectomy kitties do not achieve permanent remission. More details in the table at the end of the second case in this paper.

@Wendy&Neko I’m not even expecting Max to ever go OTJ. I guess I am just looking at one day at the time and trying my best to make him happy and as well as could be expected as we go along. I don’t like to see him when he feels unwell, so I do whatever I can do to try to make him feel better. That’s all I can expect. I’m thankful that he’s come this far since the beginning. He’s definitely improved overall.

My goal with Neko was good quality of life, she did get there for quite a while.

That's great news, it will continue to get better.
Thank you. Your stories about Neko and the examples you’ve used in any particular situation, have really helped us and have been very encouraging. I know we wouldn’t be where we are today without that. So thankful.

Neko has a wonderful legacy because of Wendy. She helps a lot of cats through Wendy.

Awesome opportunity! You've shot full dose on 112, not much different from 99. Plus you know he's on his way up. I'd start with a couple early tests.
Yay! Thanks Wendy, I did it. I knew he would be on the moon if I didn’t but just wanted some reassurance. I don’t know why that made me anxious lol. I know plenty of people on higher doses than Max do, but I’ve never shot a full dose in green (although technically it’s almost a blue).:)

but I’ve never shot a full dose in green

There's a reward for that:

Great data the first part of the cycle, it'll help the next time you see a green PS. Neko's first green preshot was similarly anti-climatic, kept on going up. But looks like Max is drifting down slowly. A lovely cycle.

Thanks for your help and encouragement Wendy and everyone. I did get a lot of data last night because as you said Wendy, it will help me next time. I learn mostly by doing so that was a good experience for me.
