Can anyone advise me? Bootsie has Acromegaly. She has been on Cabergoline since October. You can see by her spreadsheet she never has low BS. But today I am not home. My husband trying to manage. She was 128 about noon. He checked at 6PM and she was 84. He gave her food and 8 cat treats and at 7pm she was 117. I can not update her spreadsheet because I am not home but am able to use my cell. He has not given her any insulin yet. But I don’t know what to have him give her. Usually gets 27 u BID

Thanks Diane. I did not know how to find Wendy or Suzanne
Hi Jackie if you need to tag someone that has been helping you you would put the
@then start to type in the first 3 or more letters of their name and then a drop down will appear with members names tap on the person you are looking for
You will see if it worked because it will appear in blue

Was 6pm when her shot was due? Did your husband feed her usual low carb food and treats or high carb?
How long is it since the food and her shot was due? Can you monitor if you shoot? And can your schedule accommodate the delay if you shoot late?

she ate between 6 and 6:30. He has not given her any insulin yet so she is about 2 hours late. He fed her 8 cat treats and low carb food.
If I shoot late I can monitor. I will be a nervous wreck. Ha ha

Is it nearly 3 hours since her shot was due? Can your schedule accommodate the delay?
You can make uo by 30 mins every day.

Thank you for all your help. This was very unusual for Boots. As you can see on her spreadsheet, she has never dropped below 100 before. Anyone have any ideas why this happened? I know with Acromegaly, the pituitary tumor can be pulsing in nature, so perhaps there was not as much GH-1 secreted today. Or who knows.

She did drop to the 90's on 12/31 last year. There is also the possibility of the cabergoline starting to work. Not sure if it's a pattern yet, but I've seen it take longer on higher dose acros.

I had forgotten about that 90 last year. I can only hope the Cabergoline is starting to work. Sometimes I feel so frustrated with her numbers all over the place. I know some have switched to Levemir - what is the advantage of that? I thought I saw a thread about a flatter glucose curve with out the high and low swings.
And the other thing I worry about - is she just going to be a cat that Cabergoline has no effect. The studies published are such small sample sizes and rather inconclusive as one studies says it works and another says it does not make a difference. So maybe she is just one of those kitties.
