Last night was the first dip out of the HI's on the Libre. Stayed in the 370-380 range for 5 hours (first dose moving from 1U to 1.5U) Giving 1.5 again this AM.

Since he's still so high, am I safe to assume he will be ok if I am away today? Or should I stay home and monitor due to dose change?

I’d get a +2-3 scan or a test before you leave and then enjoy your day. He’s not going to go too low but it’s good to get into a habit of checking because they like to surprise us. Big drops can lead to a bounce. Now that you have the Libre any thought about switching to TR just until you can get better numbers?

Need to look at TR. I have been scanning continuously since I got the Libre. My son has a go kart race today, so if I go I cannot do the +2-3.

You need to give the increase 3 days. If you don’t see better numbers increase every 3 days. Post here before increasing.

HI all day yesterday and all day today. Just emailed the vet about increasing to 2U tomorrow. This is going to be a process. Still stumped on why he had such a great response on the 1st shot and since then nothing. He is a big cat, maybe he just needs more insulin.

Vet looked at his numbers and told me to increase to 2u. This morning was his 2nd shot at that dose. Today for the first time he is dropping into the 300's during the day. AMPS was HI and +1 was 374.

Good news on the drop. That's a big drop so I'd keep an eye on him this cycle.

On this forum, due to the number of cats here, we ask that you start a new post each day, with a link to the previous one. It helps us keep track of what's happening to see if we need to step in and help.

I thought about starting a new one, but nothing was really happening, so just decided to reply

At +3 we are now at 265. Any cause for concern? He is probably going to jump up high again due to the quick drop?
