different size u100 syringes?

Hi everyone,

I use prozinc for my kitty but am posting for my neighbour who has a newly diagnosed cat. She is using lantus at 1.0U twice daily. She has a bunch of 3/10cc syringes and a bunch of 1ml syringes, both u100. Are these interchangeable as long as she can measure 1u on each?

Thank you!

Yes, as long as they are both U-100 syringes, they can be used with Lantus. It is much easier to measure a smaller dose with the 0.3cc syringes than the 1ml syringes though!

Hurrah! She was given the 1ml syringes for free and is feeling the financial toll of a newly diagnosed kitty so is using the freebies for now, but I think will switch when she's able. Thank you so much!

Agree with Bron — please make sure she knows where 1 unit falls on the 1 ml syringes. I believe on the 1ml syringes, every hash mark is 2 units, so she’ll need to eyeball half way between the zero line and the first line to draw one unit. It’s not always easy or very exact to do.
