5.9 half hour out from dinner I can test again at that point but I’m guessing he’s on his way down. So I assume I just keep monitoring ‍i know the goal is to keep him on it as long possible but how do I do that the way he’s going currently?

edit to add: he also had the heaves a few minutes ago but no actual vomit

I did test again before I offered food and had two radically different numbers. I got a 10 and a 6.7 30 seconds apart in opposite ears, I fed him because if the heaves wasn’t from a hair ball it was empty tummy

side note what is the best course of action when you get numbers like that? How should I record that on a spread sheet? I’ve had that issue once before and had just assumed the lower number was correct because that’s the safer number to base things on

Did you test again to see what’s happening… and not giving any food yet?

It’s hard to tell. You could have tested again but it could be a vicious circle. I think most likely the 6.7 was the correct BG as it was only 30 mins after the 5.9. So I would record that one in the BG

Update is Done, I’ll likely skip tonight because of Where he was at coupled with the heaves.
Ok. I would still offer him some snacks during the cycle and for the AMPS, post and ask for advice. If the Preshot isn’t high enough to give 0.25 U we could give 0.1 u. Someone will help you with that. I’m out atm and on my phone but I’ll try and post a picture of what the dose looks like when I get home. We want to get him onto some insulin as he’s close to remission but not quite there yet.

If you need the 0.1 unit dose here it is. It’s the middle one.
The top one is the drop dose where you push in the plunger, then insert it in the insulin, then release the plunger. That should be a dose. Good idea to test it before using it.
The bottom ones 0.25 unit dose.
If you are unsure what to do…please ask us.
